❛ success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts ❜
THE GIRLS ALL MET UP AT ONE OF THE MANY PARK BENCHES IN THE MIDDLE OF ROSEWOOD GARDENS. The topic of conversation was the fancy that Hanna completely totaled her ex-boyfriend Sean's car. Valerie was especially surprised to hear that Ashley barely reprimanded Hanna for the car. Valerie had to admired Hanna's restraint, but if it were her, she could have done a lot more than just crash his car. The conversation feel and the girls all stood around the old bench, staring at it.
"Okay." Aria stood in front of the girls and tucked her hair behind her ear. "So the town is gonna put in a new bench, and we'll plant the flowerbeds and there's going to be a pathway of art tiles."
Valerie sat down beside Spencer on the bench, her legs were sore after her morning run. "Art tiles."
"Messages, pictures and memories of Alison." Emily informed the girls, smiling fondly at the spot where the memorial would be.
Hanna tilted her head with a sarcastic smile. "Aw, like little headstones."
"Hanna!" Valerie said in a scolding tone, trying to hide her smile that often made an appearance due to Hanna's bluntness. "Remember that there are things you say and then there are things that remain in the gorgeous blonde head of yours."
"Aww you think I'm gorgeous." Hanna gushed, as she flicked her hair over her shoulder with a dramatic flair. "I don't know what I did to deserve such flattery.
"Only a blind person could deny that statement." Valerie said flirtatiously, blowing a kiss in the blondes direction.
"Uh - we should each do a tile. I mean, we were her best friends, after all." Emily told the others, bringing the conversation back to the memorial.
The Marin girl began to root around in her bag and then pulled out the woven bracelet. "You know I have the bracelet Alison since the day we found it in the woods, and I do not want this responsibility anymore."
"I don't want it." Aria said, looking at the flimsy piece of material in fear.
"Seriously?" Hanna said still waving it around, looking expectantly at each of the girls. "Somebody take this."
Valerie rolled her eyes at them before grabbing bracelet. "Stop acting like babies, it's a bit of material."
"That could have something to do with A." Aria muttered, looking down at the bracelet with a hint of fear.
