❛ our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us ❜
IT WAS THE MORNING AFTER IAN'S DEATH, AND VALERIE FELT AS THOUGH THERE HAD TO SOME KIND OF INTERNAL TIME DISTORTION EFFECT. The girls had spent what felt like an entire lifetime being interrogated by the police, with Veronica Hastings defending them valiantly despite not understanding the whole scope of issue. Valerie wished more than anything she could just scream that they were seemed not to be a single adult how believed them.
The police were unforgiving in their question, not hesitating to ask the questions that caused the girls to feel inferior, making them squirm uncomfortable in their seats. Valerie tried her best to answer their question to the best of her ability, but she soon realized how farfetched their tale was. Knowing that convincing anyone that their story was real without any evidence was going to be hard.
It was morning when the girls had gone their extensive interviews both individually and as a group by the police. As they exited Rosewood Police station none of the girls saw any point in being alone, after everything that they had gone through over the last 12 hours. All five girls spread out across the floor of Spencer's bedroom dressed in cozy pajamas, blankets covering the carpeted floor, pillows scattered around them.
"My brain is numb from all those cop questions." Hanna whined as she sat up whilst and rubbed her tired eyes.
"Han, I love you that is not how brains work." Valerie muttered as lay exhausted on the floor ignoring the beams of sunlight that were beginning to pierce through the curtains.
"I don't think I'd be here if it wasn't for A." Spence muttered quietly as she pulled at the ends of her sleeves. She differently looked the worse from wear out of all the girls while she had stop crying hours ago her eyes were still red, puffy and swollen.
"A killed Ian to keep you here." The Montgomery girl nodded in agreement. The five girls all shared unnerved looked because the statement didn't sit well with any of them.
"I don't know about you guys, but that doesn't seem like much of a comforting thought at the moment." Valerie said flatly, rolling over so she could look at Aria and Spencer.
"Not in the slightest." Hanna agreed.
Emily nodded, resting her head on Hanna's shoulder. "A only gives so she can take, we all know that."
"So what's the bitch gonna ask for?"
"Whatever it is, I don't think we can afford it." Valerie said dejectedly as she began to rub her eyes in an attempt to wake herself up before they delve into the world of conspiracy theories.
