Chapter 12

I was sitting in Neils car, and he was driving to school, in early morning. I was still sleepy from last night.

-"Wake up, sleepy head!" Neil suddenly yelled right into my ear and I sat up frightened by him.

-"Idiot." I punched him on the shoulder but he just laughed. -"Let me sleep." I said again, hoping to convince him to leave me.

-"No. You can't miss another day in school."

-"I'm a genius. I won't be far behind even if I do miss one day." I said, but got out of the car, not being able to convince him.

He rolled his eyes but started to walk in schools way. I soon followed him, scanning the parking lot for Mateos car, not seeing him anywhere.

I sighed when the parking lot was not in my sight as we walked in school. I quickly made my way to the first classroom, who was fortunately with Neil.

He sat besides me, and looked around. -"What?" I asked, as he did that second time.

-"I'm looking for someone." He looked at the door now, not averting his eyes anymore.

-"You have a crush?" I smirked.

-"Don't tell anyone." He glared at me, but only for a moment, then looking at the door again.

-"Okay, okay." My smirk fell, but I carefully watched him, wanting to know who was his crush.

Soon the doors opened, and in walked a really beautiful girl with neck short brown hair. She carried her bag on the shoulder, holding some books close to herself. She was really beautiful and all, but she always looked down, not noticing Neil watching her.

I glanced at Neil to make sure She's the one, and he looked at me at the same time. I furrowed my brow, as asking, and he nodded, silently answering my question.

After the bell rang, and everybody ran out off the class to lunch, I made sure Neil was gone, then approached the girl.

I smiled at her. -"What's your name?"

She looked up at me, looking a little bit scared. -"Laina." She whispered.

-"Nice to meet you Laina, I'm Simone, but you can call me Sim. Wanna be friends?" I asked, hoping that she would agree.

-"Why? We just met." She frowned.

-"Well yes, but my brother has a crush on you, so I just wanna see what will come out of that. So, you in?"

-"Okay..." She chuckled and we started going out of the classroom. -"What's your brothers name?"

-"Neil. You can come and hang out with us." I offered her.

-"Thanks." She said and smiled a warm smile, with me soon smiling back. Then I finally spotted Neil, who was slowly walking to lunch hall.

-"Neil!" I shouted at him not caring about anyone else, being eagerly to introduce him to Laina.

-"He is your brother? He's hot." Laina whispered besides me and I smiled and glanced at her awestruck expression.

We walked to Neil, who frowned and looked at me and Laina, then again me. -"What did you did?" He asked suspiciously.

I smiled and innocent smile as we walked in the lunch hall. -"I told her."

-"Told her what?" He frowned again.

-"That you have a mayor crush on her. By the way, Laina, this is my brother Neil, Neil this is Laina." I stepped a step back, so they could look at each other.

-"It's not how people meet, Sim!" He quickly looked her over, then glaring at me.

-"Wanna know what would happen if I didn't do it? You would stare at her the whole next year and never get the courage to talk to her." I offered my version.

-"Or I would find an easier way to tell her that!" We continued walking and I just rolled my eyes.

-"Too late now." Laina smiles at him, then seeing him frustrated, her smile turns into a smirk.

I looked around and finally spotted Mateo, immediately making my way over there. He was sitting on a chair baddies table all alone, so I thought he would use some company.

-"Hey pretty boy." I sat besides him.

He didn't even look up from his plate. -"Hey baby."

Neil furrowed his brow and looked at me, and when i didn't answer, he looked at Mateo who just looked up, then shrugged.

-"Don't ask me." He said.

Laina sat besides Neil, feeling more confident and comfortable so I knew they soon will be chatting.

But Laina looked over at Mateo instead. -"Are you two dating?"

-"No. We are just friends." I answered her question, automatically masking my real expressions, who really clearly told that I would want to be more.

-"Then why do you-" She started her sentence, but didn't finish, just frowned.

-"Baby really annoys her, so I'm sticking with it." Mateo answered and I rolled my eyes.

-"Hey, Neil what do you do in your free time?" Laina asked, turning towards him and placing her head in her hands.

With smile, I watched them getting relaxing more and more and continuing talking. When one of them got food in mouth the other one talked, and otherwise, and that was so cute.

Then I finally turned towards Mateo, who was already watching me with furrowed brows. I frowned, but he just shook his head.

-"Who's she?" He whispered, keeping his tone low, so the she wouldn't hear. But she did hear, and glared at him.

I smirked. -"She's Neils crush."

Even Mateo started smirking when he heard me, but Neil just glared at me.

-"Neil, she already knows. What do you want me to do, deny it?" I said and saw Laina smirk, again.

But Neil didn't notice it, being busy with glaring at me and now also Mateo. The bell suddenly rang, and we all got up from our seats, leaving the hall.

Soon we all parted ways because we needed to go in different classrooms, and I couldn't wait till the school will end.

And maybe, just maybe, I'll get the chance with Mateo. Maybe.
