Chapter 31

Suddenly the doors slammed open and Neil marched in the kitchen with a laughing Laina behind him.

-"Stop it." He glared at Laina.

-"That's hilarious." She replied, ending her laughter.

I just watched them with furrowed brows.

Mateo's hand slipped off of my shoulders and he got off the counter, leaning against it. I placed my hand on his shoulder leaning against him.

Arch walked in the kitchen and we all turned to him.

-"I want to eat something with chocolate." He said and stared at us with furrowed brows.

Now we all started chuckling.

-"Yeah, I know dad, we have a lot of chocolate." Neil said and walked to the fridge to get everything out.

Arch watched Neil with suspicion. -"I know you can't cook, Neil."

-"Simone's boyfriend did." Neil said.

-"Yeah, dad, my boyfriend Mateo. Besides, Neil also has girlfriend." I said and smirked at glaring Neil.

Mateo chuckled watching us interacting then nodded at Arch.

-"Are you chef?" Arch asked, curiously looking Mateo up and down.

-"No, my mom used to teach me." Mateo said and looked over at me.

-"Dad, my girlfriend, Laina." Neil said, watching Mateo's face becoming darker.

I locked my fingers with his and kissed his cheek, hoping to lighten him up, and soon I succeed, making him chuckle.

-"Right, food." Arch said, and marched over at all the food we made, throwing something in his mouth.

-"Why does it tastes so good?" He asked, and out attention shoot back to Arch eating our food.

Neil wrapped his arm around Laina and hid his face in her neck, making her chuckle, then dragged her to the food.

I slipped down from the counter, dragging Mateo with me, wanting to taste my boyfriends cooked food.

We sat in a circle around the food right in the kitchen, telling jokes and trying to make Arch laugh not drift back into sadness.

But soon we all were full from the food, and Arch excuses himself, walking to his room.

I sighed and slammed my head against the table we were sitting against.

-"He will be fine." Neil said, watching Arch walking away.

Laina tugged Neil up and dragged him out of the kitchen, and I listened as their footsteps faded walking to Neils room.

I looked over at Mateo with a smirk.

-"Lets go to my room." I stood up and pulled him to my room, locking the doors so Neil wouldn't run in.

I fell on my bed and Mateo chuckling did the same.

-"Sim." He said, watching me.

-"Mhm?" I asked, not really paying attention.

-"I-" He started but was cut off by his phone ringing.
