Chapter 22

After school I'm on my way to annoy Mateo.

Neil with Laina is already home, but I got held back in the school to do some things, and Mateo immediately drove home after school.

I couldn't help but wonder why he rushed away, so now I'm on my way to annoy him.

And soon enough I'm catching my breath and standing in front of Mateos apartment doors.

I don't hear anything inside, and it's not a surprise, the walls are thick and sound isolating.

I ring the bell, and only have to wait few seconds before a really beautiful girl with black hair and green eyes, looking somewhat similar to Mateo.

I innocently smile at her.

-"Can I come in? I would love to spend my afternoon annoying him." I say, still smiling.

She chuckles.

-"Are you Simone? I'm Hebrona, but you can call me Heb." She said and opened the door wider, to let me in.

-"I know how easily he gets irrated, so I don't get you, but you can still join us." She said as we both go to the living room in his apartment.

And I look at all the foods on the table and pout.

-"Here is happening a secret party, and you don't even think about inviting me?" I furrow my eyebrows at Mateo who just shakes his head.

-"Please, tell me you cooked all of that." I said, pointing at the food.

It looked delicious, but it will be more delicious, if I knew Mateo was cooking it.

-"So you also know he cooks amazing!" Heb said, making Mateo chuckle.

And then we are all interrupted by a boy who just casually walks in and kisses Hebron on lips, when passing her.

I furrow my brow at them, and Hebrona seeing me smiles.

But she smiles even wider when the boy sits next to her and pulls her in his lap.

-"It's her boyfriend Cain. There dating for a few years now." Mateo whispers, but they obviously heard him.

-"And by the way, I'm Mateos sister, if you haven't figured it out by now." Hebrona said, and now it really made sense.

They even looked somewhat similar, what I already noticed earlier at the door.

-"You totally have to taste this." Mateo said, and handed me some kind of waffle with a cream inside it.

I suspiciously looked at him, but took the waffle anyway.

And as soon as I tasted it, I was actually surprised. Because in the middle of it was a chocolate ice cream.

I smiled widely and heard Cain chuckle.

I looked up and Hebrona was looking at me and smiling.

-"Are you guys dating? Why didn't you tell me? You need to tell me everything!" She said.

-"We are just friends. And he's annoying." I said and rolled my eyes, still eating the delicious waffle Mateo gave me.

-"Then why are you here?" She frowned.

-"I like annoying him back." I hesitantly said.

-"It's basically how relationships work, annoying each other till they die." Cain finally spoke up with his low voice.

But it was nothing compared to Mateo's- his voice was just amazing.

-"Yeah, but also big part of it is trust. And hundred other things." I said back, almost snapping, but I managed to hide that part of me with an irritated glare.

-"Well, did you ever had strong friendship before?" Heb hesitatingly asked, staring at me, making me frown and wonder why so.

-"Yeah, I did, back where I lived before." I casually said it, but it was taking most of my power not to just tell her to shut up.

-"Well, are you still friends?" She continued question flow, almost making me annoyed.

-"I think." I nodded along my words, and grabbed another waffle.

-"Why dont you visit them? How far are they?" She now was really curious.

-"Only one or two hours away, but I don't have a car. And I can't just visit them." I played it off cool, desperately trying not to start crying.

Hannah killed herself.

What if someone of them decides to do it too?

-"Why not?" She asked, and I sighed and finally looked up, just to see that everyone is looking at me, with different expressions on.

Hebrona was curios, Cain was at least a little bit interested, but Mateo was worried.

He was the only one who knew I lived in orphanage.

-"It's more complicated than that. Can we talk about something else?"I smiled an innocent smile, and it really did convince her that it wasn't anything important.

But it left me thinking about it for all night.

Soon Hebrona and Cain started making out right in front of us.

-"Excuse me, your brothers best friend in room." I said, making Mateo chuckle, but didn't get any reaction from them.

Then I stood up.

-"At least keep the sofa clean, we actually sit there, you idiots!" I shouted, and Hebrona stopped, throwing an annoyed glare at me.

But I just smiled innocently.

-"Seriously guys, she's still underage, can't you have sex somewhere else?" Mateo said, finally making them stop.

-"Still underage?" Cain asked, and frowned.

-"Yeah, I'm sixteen, so don't have sex in here while I'm here, or else you will traumatize me for the rest of my innocent life!" I quickly got from sarcastic talking to yelling.

And when I finally stopped talking, Hebrona pouted.

-"Well, no sex today." She said. -"But just so you know, it's incredibly good and just the way he makes me feel doing-"

I placed my hands over my ears.

-"Too much information already! You're ruining my innocence!" I yelled at them, and glared.

Then finally removed my hands, when she stopped talking.

-"You're too sarcastic for an innocent." She finally said, and carefully looked over me.

-"Whatever you say, Heb." I said, and smiled an innocent smile.

I heard Mateo chuckling besides me, so I decided to pull on another truck.

I just let my innocent face transform to a dark one with a smirk, almost making Heb terrified.

-"Oh don't let her come close to me! She looks creepy!" She shout and pointed at me, while Mateo was full on laughing, Cain looking only a little bit scared.

-"You ruined my innocence. Now you got to deal with the price of it." I said and smirked more creepier, now also making Cain look terrified.

After a moment I started laughing with Mateo.

-"You guys are so easily to scare! I bet you can't stand a horror movie." I said and chuckled.

-"That's not funny! You scared the crap outta me!" She shouted, and crossed her arms pouting.
