IV: Questioning
"We will carry pieces of all those who have built and broken us"- Atticus

I shadowed Abella when I wasn't in meetings. I never got close enough for her to see me but close enough to hear her conversations. I was still at a loss of what to do or how to handle the situation, she seemed content with Lord Tarquin and possibly she even loved him, but selfishly I hoped that wasn't true. I hoped that she wasn't already whisked off of her feet before I even had the chance to speak to her.
This girl had shattered my cool, emotionless exterior after only knowing her for a few days. There were a few moments during the day where I wanted to approach her and apologize for our conversation but every time, I gained enough courage someone else was already talking to her.
Hearing her speak of her mother's health my heart ached a bit. Possibly we were misreading the situation and her and her mother were both trapped in the spring court like my own mom was. Perhaps this was all an act that she was so flawlessly trained on how to perform so the moment Lord Tarquin left her side I quickly walked up to her.
"Lady Abella" I said greeting her. Out of the corner of my eye I saw my father, mother and Lucien turning down the walkway we were currently in.
She turned to face me a gentle beautiful smile on her face. As soon as she saw it was me her face twisted into one of hate, her green eyes narrowed, and her nose flared, and then it was quickly replaced with her mask of happiness.
"Lord Nyx." She said, nodded her head and walked away from me.
"I couldn't help but overhear your conversation with Tarquin." I said walking quickly behind her.
She shot me a glance that seemed to say your point is.
"And I just wanted to make sure that you and your mother are safe." My voice trailed not knowing how to exactly word it.
"What are you insinuating?" She questioned her pace slowed and her voice became void of any emotion.
"I know what he did to my mother and if he's doing it to you and your mother as well, I can help, my court, we would help." I said.
She abruptly stopped and turned to face me "How dare you." She hissed her voice dangerously low. Her eyes narrowed at me and her hands clenched by her side, she was seething in anger. I took a step back surprised that this women who always seemed so happy could look so scary. "How dare you act like you know anything of our situation. My father has redeemed himself and we don't need you and your court spreading these rumors about us." She was now standing a few inches from me and her whole body was tightened in anger. "I am trying my hardest to remain diplomatic with you and your court, but you are making it extremely hard. So if you dare harass me at night again, or speak about my family like this again, I will not hold back."
