ABELLA

"Oh, how I've missed you guys." My mom said as she basically sprinted to meet us at the front door of our manor. "You guys aren't ever allowed to leave me all at once."

"Missed you too mom." I said hugging her back.

We had a family dinner that night and we all shared stories of the meeting with my mom. I told her of how papa said he missed us and that we will have to visit him soon which made her run up the stairs to write him a letter, about when the best time to visit would be. It had been a few months since she had visited her dad and I knew that she missed him. I followed her up the stairs and into her own small study that had various nick knacks scattered around. A few books laid open while others with bookmarks, a few journals were on her desk with spilled quill ink and in the corner was her violin. I smiled at the mess, she was never a clean and tidy person.

"So how were all the lords at the meeting?" She questioned looking up from the paper she was writing on to quirk an eyebrow at me.

"They were good." I responded. I wanted to tell her about Nyx, about how frustrating he was, but I didn't want to put any tension on us and the night court, so I bit my tongue.

"Mhm" She mumbled and began to write again. "And Tarquin, how was he?"

"He's good as well. He sends you his best wishes and that he hopes to see you soon." I said as my eyes dart to the window in her study knowing that if I looked her in the eye, she would be able to tell something was bothering me.

"Is that all?" She asked sending me a pointed look.

"Ya basically. We shared a few moments walking on the beach together or in the city and they were nice as always," I mumbled, "He gifted me a beautiful necklace with pearls and diamonds on it."

"How considerate." She said while writing the letter to Thesan. I excused myself from her room and walked down to the gardens to meet with one of my animals.

"Poppy" I greeted as I saw my wolf prowling through the gardens. She stopped mid walk turned to face me and then sprung-on top of me and gave me a bunch of kisses. "I've missed you too" I said as I pushed her off of me. She was huge wolf that belonged to the winter court, but I found her as a pup and begged my father to keep her. "Follow, I have a lot to tell you."

The wolf followed closely behind as I guided her through the gardens, through the fields of green, to a cliff that outlooked a waterfall.

"Abella!" Echo my best friend called as she jogged up to me. Her silver blonde hair swaying in the wind. As she caught up all three of us plopped to the ground and I quickly noted she was still in her fighting leathers.
