Abella barely felt as though she had closed her eyes when a light fluttering through her window drew her awake. With a moan she rolled over onto her side and met Nina's gaze. Startled she gasped at seeing her brown-haired friend dressed and peering down at her.

"Damn Abella." Nina muttered underneath her breath with a playful smile. "I knew you were drunk but not that drunk! You've been sleeping off your hangover for almost a day now."

Sitting up Abella furrowed her eyebrows. Had she been asleep for a day now? And if she had been it had to be due to a reason other than a hangover, right? But the moments following her leaving the group after the bar where too distant in her memory to grasp.

Frowning she took a drink of water sighing as it coated her dry throat. "What happened" She asked, rubbing her eyes as if hoping that would fill in her blind spots.

Nina let out a hearty laugh. "Well damn, maybe you were that drunk!" She laughed. "You basically told Nyx to go fuck himself by saying you and Tarquin were engaged, and then you ran off here and have been sleeping for a day."

Abella's frown deepened and she began to shake her head. "No after that." She mumbled. "After that something happened. I I ju-just can't seem to remember what."

Taking another sip of water Abella concentrated on her memory trying to put back the pieces of the puzzle. When suddenly like a scorpion stinging her an echo of a bout of pain rolled through her entire body. But this pain was unlike one of a hangover. And this pain was all too similar to Malice's dark magic that he had willed over her countless of times.

Now with determination in her eyes Abella glanced up at Nina a cruel smile curving her lips. "Where's Nyx?" she asked.

"Probably attending the High Lords meetings. The day after tomorrow everyone is leaving so they are just tying up loose strings."

Abella's mind brimming in anger only gave her friend a smile before she took to the halls of the castle.

Abella found Nyx sitting in her personal garden admiring her bush of unique flowers. Today the roses burned red with the fury of an angry woman. The sight of Nyx made her steps falter and her breath catch. He sat on a bench with his eyes closed in what appeared to be bliss. The rising sun illuminated his facial features and his hair blew back as a gentle breeze danced through the air. His face was strikingly pieced together as if modeled from the old gods that used to roam these lands.

"Did the sight of me make you forget your anger?" Nyx asked without opening an eye, his face still lifted to the sun.

Though it did Abella would never admit it, reminded of her purpose She strode up to him hands on her hips and peering down at him with a gaze ready to kill.
