I walked through the halls of the summer court slightly in a daze. I had sent word to Apollo, the god of sun, before I left the spring court and I was hoping to hear back from him. To the side of me Tarquin chattered about all of the recent happenings in the summer court. I tried my hardest to stay present in the conversation, but I found as I drifted further into the realm of the gods it was harder to stay present in Prythian gossip.

"How does that sound sweetheart?" I smiled at his new pet name for me. After I had freed myself from the prison Tarquin and I had grown closer than before. He was what I realized I needed, someone safe and comforting.

"It sounds lovely." I smiled, patting his arm that was wrapped around my own. Not entirely sure what I just agreed too.

He beamed down at me. "And do you know everyone who has been invited to the celebration?" He questioned.

"Mhm" I hummed racking my brain for information, my father had planned for a small gathering for his allies before the high lords meeting which would be taking place in a few weeks. "I believe that it was just your court and grandfather Thesan's." I frowned a bit. "And possibly the Night Court I sent word to Nina and I believe father was wanting to build their relationship a bit more so we can expect their whole court as well."

"Lovely." Tarquin bristled a bit, his slight annoyance shinning through his piercing blue eyes. "And how do you think their alliance is going with your court?"

"I believe well." I answered. "I have visited their court a few times the past months and there is no longer any animosity. But ever since I returned you know that I haven't been as heavily involved court politics." Because my time was being taken up by other matters.

"Yes of course." He said nodding his head and moved his arm our of my grip, and then wrapped it around the small of my waste. "It's just hard for me to think that the Night Court doesn't have anything to do with your disappearance. That new land is right on the edge of their land for Mothersake and their son disappears as soon as you return!"

"The Night Court has proven their innocence." My eyebrows furrowed, I definitely didn't want Nyx's parents and court to get dragged into his mess, they were blameless in all of this. "They sent their own men and troops in search of me." By the way Tarquin rolled his eyes I could tell he still wasn't on board with them. "And might I add their retrieval efforts were second only to my father and the spring court." His look of annoyance was then replaced by shame. "But let's not worry ourselves over the past darling." I said smiling up at him, slightly guilty for my words. "What is in the past is in the past and we must continue moving forward."

"Moving forward together." He said and placed a kiss on my head.

I stood up on my toes and captured his lips in my own.
