"And what is your relationship to Matsuragi-san?"
Sakusa looked down at Satoshi and Hacchin who were holding his hands, "Her boyfriend."
The receptionist typed away at their keyboard as they checked Sakusa in. The boys let go of his hands and raised their arms up wanting to be carried. He easily swept them up into his arms as they both giggled.
"She's in room 207 on the second floor," the receptionist stated.
"Thank you."
Sakusa walked off to the elevators as the twins clung to him. No one was on or came into the elevator with the trio, much to Sakusa's delight. His life really took a 180, but for the better. He was suddenly a father and the woman he loved was back home but in a coma.
There was a part of Sakusa that felt guilty for missing out on the boys' lives, but he reasoned that it wasn't his or Michiko's fault. He wondered how hard it was for her to take care of two kids on her own.
It was quite odd though. Sakusa actually adjusted rather quickly to the fact that he was a father. There were many times where he thought about the idea of being a parent and what it would've been like with Michiko.
He constantly doubted himself though. Sakusa wasn't the best at interacting with others in social settings, so how does he expect himself to be good with kids? Being a new and young parent was going to be difficult, but Sakusa was going to see it through no matter how hard it would get.
"We've waited so long for you Daddy," Hacchin gleamed.
"Yeah, it's been," Satoshi rapidly nodded, but paused to look at his brother, "How old are we?"
"Uh" Hacchin looked up and then held up three fingers, "We're three!"
"Three years..." Sakusa said aloud as he felt a small pang in his chest.
"But it's ok because we found you!" The boys cheered.
It made Sakusa smile under his mask as the elevator dinged and the doors opened to Izumi standing in front of them.
"Auntie Izumi!" The twins squealed and waved.
Izumi's eyes widened as she saw them being held by Sakusa, "Sakusa-kun?"
"We found Daddy," the boys said as they hugged Sakusa.
Sakusa exited the elevator as he looked at Izumi with questioning eyes.
"Oh! I... can see that," Izumi said, "How have you been Sakusa-kun?"
"As of right now, I'm still in shock."
Izumi sighed as a sad expression occupied her face, "I was just about to leave."
