"Mama, wake up," a voice whispered.
Michiko felt light taps on her cheek and forehead. Her eyes slowly opened and she found Satoshi and Hacchin standing at her bedside. She reached out to her nightstand and picked up her phone. Her eyes squinted at the brightness, 6:07 AM...
"Why are you two up so early?" Her voice rasped gently.
"Shh," Satoshi shushed, "we don't want to wake up Daddy."
"It's Daddy's birthday," Hacchin whispered.
"Oh... right," Michiko groggily sighed.
"We want to make pancakes for him," Hacchin lightly bounced.
"Yeah, and yer a good cook, Mama," Satoshi added.
"Ok, I'll get up," Michiko whispered back.
She tried getting up, but Sakusa's arms had been wrapped around her waist. A light blush covered her cheeks as she registered the position she was in with Sakusa. Michiko went to gently move his arms and he slightly stirred.
"Don't leave," he grumbled.
"I have to do something with the boys," Michiko gently whispered as she got up.
Satoshi and Hacchin went over to Sakusa's side of the bed and lightly pulled him and rolled him over to face them. Sakusa lightly groaned and scrunched his eyebrows at the twins. Satoshi and Hacchin waved their arms around.
"It's just a dream~," Satoshi sung.
Hacchin swayed side to side, "Mama will be back soon~."
Maybe he was dreaming. It could have been the lighting, but their freckles looked like they were kind of glowing. Sakusa had a sleepy expression as he furrowed his eyebrows at the two boys. The boys lightly groaned in frustration as Sakusa wasn't falling back asleep.
"Go to sleep Daddy," Hacchin commanded.
"Yeah, you need beauty sleep if you wanna be pretty like Mama," Satoshi deadpanned.
What the... Sakusa's eyes felt heavy. He was too tired to try to deal with whatever was happening right now, so he let his eyes close and sleep took over. Michiko quietly chuckled as the boys gave each other a thumbs up. The two boys tip-toed out of the room. Satoshi and Hacchin lightly bounced their way to the kitchen with Michiko following behind.
"Can we make Umeboshi pancakes?" Hacchin asked.
Michiko slightly scrunched her eyebrows together, "I'm not sure if that would taste good, Umeboshi tends to be more on the sour side."
"We could do blueberry pancakes," Satoshi offered.
"Ooh! Yeah! Could we do choco pancakes too?" Hacchin asked excitedly.
