Michiko would have Hinata train with her religiously every Friday. He's definitely gotten better since the first time he's actually played, but there were still some things he had to work on like adjusting to the sand and wind during games. They had played a 2v2 match with some older people, and they were now taking a little break chugging down their water.
Hinata's eyes moved to another sand court as a group of people of all ages were playing. The ball was shanked, but Hinata quickly reacted and saved it with an overhead pass. An old burly man walked up to Hinata with a smile.
"Hey man, you're pretty good! Switch with me," the man cheerfully said.
Hinata looked at Michiko to translate, "He said you're really good, so you should switch with him."
"Oh," was all Hinata said.
"I think I'll join if they'll let me," she said as she wiped sweat off her forehead with a towel.
"Yosha!" Hinata yelled aloud.
Everyone looked at him in confusion as the foreign word rolled off his tongue. Michiko snickered as she trailed behind Hinata.
"Can I join?" She asked.
"Of cou- wait! You're Matsu Matsu!" An older man in a black shirt exclaimed.
Everyone who was playing turned their heads and let out sounds of excitement.
"Matsu Matsu?" Hinata tilted his head in confusion.
"Heh, I forgot to mention that I'm quite known around here," she gave a sheepish smile while adjusting her ball cap.
"What do you mean?" The human tangerine questioned.
"You could say I help out the National teams..."
"B-B-B-BRAZIL!" Shock was all you could see on Hinata's face.
Michiko laughed at his reaction, "C'mon they're waiting on us."
The two proceeded to play with the others. Hinata was doing exceptionally well with digging for the ball. And despite Michiko's height, she knew how to play the game, because when it came to beach volleyball, it was all about strategy and where you placed the ball. The other players cheered them both on.
The old man in the black shirt jumped up and hit the ball down getting a point for their team.
"Nice kill!" Hinata cheered.
"Huh... seriously though, Japanese?" A voice called out.
The unknown Japanese speaker made Michiko and Hinata turn around to find none other than Oikawa Tooru.
