i walk to my table for breakfast. "y/n, have you met eren yet?" sasha asks me as i sit at the table.
"no, but i've heard about him." i respond. shasha pulls on a boy's sleeve and forces him to look over at me.
"this is eren jeager!" she says. i look into the boys emerald eyes as he awkwardly raises his hand to wave at me. "eren, y/n is a new cadet here!"
"oh, nice to meet you!" he says. "meet my friends." sasha nods and i take a seat closer to eren and the people he was sitting with.
"this is mikasa and armin!" eren says, pointing to a black haired girl and a blond boy. "guys, y/n just joined the survey corps." he said, giving me an introduction.
"it's nice to meet you, y/n." armin smiles. mikasa doesn't say anything, instead she gives me a nod and continues to eat the food that was sitting in front of her.
"so, y/n, have you ever been outside the walls?" eren asks, starting a conversation.
"no, i haven't. i'm actually very interested in what might be beyond the walls." i say.
"i've heard that there are oceans and deserts, and all kinds of stuff we couldn't even imagine!" armin said.
"where did you learn this?"
"well i've read a lot of books that my parents had left behind. the world seems very interesting." armin says, munching on his bread.
i take another glance at the black haired girl sitting at our table. she still hasn't muttered a word. "i like your scarf." i say to her, trying to speak with her.
"thank you, eren gave it to me." she said. her voice was quiet and she pulled the scarf closer to her face.
"oh that's so sweet." i say, smiling at eren. he scratches the back of his neck and decided to speak to me once again.
"so how did you get in the survey corps all by yourself? i don't see any other new soldiers."
"actually i'm here because my father had trained me when i was younger. erwin knew my dad and he knew how strong i was so he wanted me to join." i say.
"that's impressive." eren says. "you told sasha earlier that you already knew who i was, how's that?"
"i didn't mean that i knew you, i meant that i had heard of you. i saw you on the papers."
"hear that, horse face, i'm famous!" eren shouts.
"who's horse face?" i ask armin.
"that's what eren calls jean." i spit out my water and laugh at jean's nick name, realizing how long his face really was.
mikasa gives me a glance. "i'm so sorry." i whisper.
"y/n, do not laugh at that. it is not funny!" jean yells. i shake my head and finish what was left on my plate.
"okay, eren, mikasa, armin. it was nice to meet you." i say getting up from my seat.
"we can walk with you to the training field. we were going there anyways." armin says.
"thanks, that'd be great." together, we made our way out of the cafeteria.
"erennnnnnn!!!!" a loud voice called. i looked to where it came from. i saw levi walking with a brunette in glasses and a ponytail.
"hide me, y/n." eren whispers, using me as a shield.
"too late, eren, i already saw you." the person in glasses yelled as they came closer to us.
"who's that?" i whisper to eren behind me.
"that's hange. they've been using me for experiments and they probably want to use me for another." so that's hange... i think to myself.
i look at the captain beside hange. he was shaking his head and pinching the skin in between his eyebrows.
"hange, i'd like just one morning where there's peace and quiet." he says to the scientist.
"wait a minute.." hange says, pointing at me, "who is this?"
"that's the new cadet." the corporal answers.
"oh, so you've met eren! did you know he can transform into a titan?"
"yes, i'm aware." i respond.
"yeah, anyways, i'm going to need him for an experiment."
"can i ask what you do in those experiments?" i ask.
"torture... that's what happens." eren answers.
"oh, no silly. i just examine him and figure out what exactly causes him to turn into a titan." hange said.
"hange, we're going to train right now." eren said.
"oh, just make sure to stop my by office afterwards then." hange passed by us and walked outside.
"i'll announce to the rest of the cadets that it is time to start training." levi mumbled as he walked into the cafeteria.

i stood across from reiner, closely watching his movements. we were paired up and most soldiers around us had stopped what they were doing to watch the fight.
reiner charged at me quickly and threw his fist in the air. he was planning on punching the right side of my face, but i was able to dodge him. without giving him a warning, i kicked him in the stomach, causing him to fall back.
giving him no break, i charged at him again, punching the left side of his face. pent up anger flowed over me as i continued to beat up reiner, causing blood to spill out of his nose.
i was about to punch him one last time, but a hand grabbed onto my shoulder. "you won, idiot." i turn around and face the corporal.
"you're coming to my office after your done out here. i'll see how i can punish you the same way you did to reiner." i salute at the captain, watching as he walked away.
"shit... i've done it now." i curse under my breath. eren and armin run up to me.
"y/n, you may have killed him!" eren yells.
"what happened?" armin asks.
"i just couldn't stop." i whisper.
"well now you're in lots of trouble with the captain." eren says.
"i know." eren and armin pat my shoulder and take me into the cafeteria to get some water.
