i open my eyes and gaze at the white room i was sitting in. it looked like a room in the infirmary. i hear the mumbled noises of people talking on the other side of the door.
the door creaks open and hanji walks the rough the door. "oh, you're up y/n." they say, waving at me. i smile and look down at my hands.
"what happened to me?" i ask.
"reiner grabbed you. eren then turned into a titan and took you back from reiner. you passed out because you became stressed." they said, scribbling something down on their clipboard.
"oh, so eren brought me back." i whisper. "can you get him for me so i can thank him?"
"oh..." hanji said, looking up at me from the clipboard. "actually, eren brought you back from the wall, but levi was the one who insisted that you come to the infirmary." i look up at hanji and furrow my brows. "he came over to your room every chance he could. he's in a meeting with erwin right now."
"why would levi do that for me?" i ask.
"that's a good question." hanji said, walking up next to me. "i'm going to give you an inspection." they said. hanji checked everything to make sure i was alright.
"okay, y/n, reiner didn't do anything to you. i would recommend that you stay here for a while and rest, but you can leave any time you want."
"thank you, hanji." i say quietly. they smile at me and turn back around to leave the room.
"i have some more patients to check up on so i'll be leaving." they turn to open the door, but someone opens it before they got the chance. "oh, hello levi!" hanji greets him, "how did the meeting go?" levi looks over at me and pushes past hanji.
"is she okay?" he asked the brunette behind him.
"she's okay, she passed out because she got stressed out." levi sits in the chair beside me and looks down at me. "i'm going to get going." hanji said, leaving the room.
the door shut and levi looks up at me. "levi?" i whisper.
"y/n, i'm sorry."
"why are you sorry?"
"i let you go with hanji instead of going with you. i had a feeling something would go wrong."
"it's alright levi." i said, holding his hand. "i'm not hurt, so it's okay." he nods and looks down in his lap.
"don't you have work to do?" i ask.
"no, i finished it a bit ago." he said, letting go of my hand.
"hanji told me what you did for me." i said quietly. he looked up to my eyes.
"yeah.." he whispered.
"are you okay?" i ask. the whole time he was sitting there, he had seemed different than how he usually acted.
"i'm fine." he said with a blank voice. i took his hand into mine once more.
"tell me." i said.
"i don't know.. i was just worried." he said.
"why?" he sighed and looked away from me.
"anyone would have been nervous finding someone who had passed out." i enter-twine my fingers with his and remember the conversation i had with connie in the cafeteria when he was trying to find sasha. 'y/n, is there anybody you might like?' i think carefully about his words. the only person who came to my mind was the man sitting in front of me.
"levi."
"hm."
"i care about you too." i say quietly. he squeezes his hand and smiles down at me. i look up in his grey eyes, noticing that there was some sort of feeling in his eyes.
he takes his other hand and runs it down the side of my face, cupping my cheeks in his hand. "levi." i whisper. his face comes down closer to mine and our lips touch. he separates himself from me and tucks my hair behind my ear.
i can feel my face beating up. "hanji said you were alright to leave." he whispered. i nod and he helps me out of the bed. "have you eaten yet?" he asked. i shook my head no. he takes me back to hq and leads me into the cafeteria.
he walks into the kitchen, with me following behind him. he chops up a few vegetables and pours them into a pot. "oh, levi." i say, "you don't have to make me anything." he looks back and me and then down at the pot.
"i want to." he said quietly. "consider it like i'm paying you back for making me all that tea." he stirs the pot and finished cooking. he takes a spoon and pours the food into a bowl. he grabs another spoon and hands it over to me. he leads me to a table and sits down with me, placing the bowl down on the table.
"thank you." i say, smiling at the man sitting across from me.
"i'll be right back." he said, getting up from his seat. he makes himself some tea and brings a mug back for me.
"stop, levi. you're doing too much." i say, taking a sip from the tea he gave me.
"y/n, let me take care of you." he said.
"you seriously don't need to do that." i whisper.
"no, i have to y/n. i care about you too much." he said picking up his tea cup and taking a sip from it. "i'm sorry i wasn't there for you today. i won't let it happen again."
"levi, don't worry about it. i'm fine." i said, scooping the soup up with my spoon. he let out a 'tch' and looked out the window beside us.
i finish the soup that was in my bowl and i go back into the kitchen to clean it. "come with me, brat." levi said, grabbing my hand.
he lead me back to his office and closed the door behind him. he pulled me closer to him, our foreheads touching. i could feel him breathing on my face. he leans closer and kisses me. our lips move in sync and he pulls me closer by my neck.
we separate and he smiles, looking down at me. "come on," he said, "you need rest." he pulled me into his room and let me lay on his bed. he pulled the cover over me and turned around to leave. i grab his wrist and pull him back to the bed.
"stay with me." i whisper. he gets in the bed next to me and wraps his arms around my waist. he rests his head in the crook of my neck and starts to kiss me.
"i care about you so much, y/n. seeing you today made me so nervous." he whispers. i act like i had already fallen asleep, not knowing what to say. my conscience slowly slips away from me and i fall asleep.
