ARES

"The sun seemed to shine brighter today," I groaned. Not really awake, I looked down to see Aphrodite laying on my chest. I stared at her for a moment as I took in her beauty.

There was a time where I would've been happy to see her sleep so peacefully. She used to make me happy, but that somehow changed. I couldn't pinpoint what it was. But seeing her sleep like this made me feel annoyed.

"You were staring.", she smiled, slowly opening her eyes. "You can go," I said, standing up. Her face dropped in shock, but she didn't protest as she put on her robe before leaving the room.

"What was that?", Apollo said mockingly, entering my room.

"Come on. Shut up!" I laughed.

"Now that you are awake, you will come with me to the Valley of Tempe."

"You don't have to repeat that twice," I answered.

....

No matter how many times I've been here. It still amazes me to see it all. The city is located on the highest mountain in Greece. It's a place that represents the future by showing the layers of nature all merged together. A community where all the living immortals can live in harmony and be one. That also means that I get to enjoy the view of the more attractive immortals that are present there.

"You disgust me," he muttered with a frown on his face. "Well, you should know me by now.", I chuckled.

"Come on, let's see what they have to offer today.", I smirked. In annoyance, he rolled his eyes before walking intentionally towards the armory.

As we walked through the paths, I felt the gazes follow me. "Grand rising, Ares.", a voice suddenly spoke out. "Grand rising, beautiful.", I smiled kissing her hand softly. In triumph, her eyes glanced over to her friends as she looked back at me.

"I wondered if you were free today," she smiled.

"As you can clearly see, we were in the middle of going somewhere," Apollo butted in. Her eyes rolled in irritation. "Clearly it's not that important," she said, wrapping her hands around my arm.

Confused, I looked at her. "I think my brother clearly said that we were going somewhere.", I snapped, removing her hands.

Her eyes widened before she stepped aside, moving back to her friends. As we watched her leave, Apollo turned to me. " I don't understand why they go feral for you."

"I don't know, maybe it's my looks," I grinned. "Wait, look at this," Apollo said, turning his attention to something behind me..

"What?", I said, confused to see the jewelry stand. "Artemis needs new earrings. The ones she has now are almost a century old," he said, looking at the displayed jewelry.

My eyes wandered over them as I saw something that caught my attention. It wasn't necessarily a jewel, but it was a stone on its own. It was a dark rose crystal that had light cracks in it. My mind instantly thought about the mortal I met that day. It matched the necklace I gave her perfectly.

"Can I get that?", I pointed towards the crystal. The fairy smiled before wrapping it in silk fabric.

"Why are you buying that? We are looking for earrings", Apollo expressed confused. I shrugged my shoulders, dismissing his question. Somehow I didn't want him to know why I bought it. His eyes searched for an answer, but he kept quiet as he picked up a random pair of earrings.

"Can I at least see it?", he asked. I waited for a reason, but he kept quiet as he looked at me intensely. "It's because of her, isn't it."

Flustered, I looked at him. "What?", I answered in disbelief. He didn't seem to answer me, as he paid before walking away. Still wanting an answer, I followed him. "I know it's for her.", he answered thoughtfully.

"What do you mean?", I tried to protest with no success.

"What's so different about her?"

......

The room felt so quiet. I could hear the sound of the waves and feel the moisture that was created by the clouds. But somehow there was a thought that kept lingering around me.

"What's so different about her?"

Even if I tried, I couldn't explain what I felt. I can't even express what it actually does to me. It seems like the words just slipped my mind, as all I could see was the image of her face. My mind went blank for a moment as I sighed.

"Maybe I just need to walk it off."

I stood up and walked towards the balcony. The sun slowly settled down. I felt the sudden urge to catch the sun on earth. With that thought on my mind, I went towards Phobos.

"Let's go to earth, Phobos."
