A NEW HOME

MINERVA'S P.O.V 

I was with Maria Hill, while the Avengers went to a mission. They were going to meet some guy that had vibranium. I was with Maria when there was a report of Hulk destroying a city. We tried to call backup but Tony said that everyone had a hit. I was afraid for Steve. 

"What do you mean, everyone got hit?" I asked Tony. He told me about this witch that played with their minds and made them see their darkest secret. Clint said that they were going to a save house. Maria said that we just needed to wait. 

Later that night, Maria said that she had to go help Nick Fury on a mission. 

"Wait! Wasn't he dead?" I asked. 

"Well kid, everything is not always at it seems" Maria said. "Grab some clothes, Tony asked me to take you with me to the save house". 

I hated that they keep seeing me as a kid. I rolled my eyes and followed her orders. I grab myself a backpack. I took some clothes and necessary stuff. Then we went to a house. It looked like a farm and then I saw Clint, Natasha, Tony,Steve and Banner outside waiting for us.I got out of the ship and went to meet everyone. Everyone smiled at me and Tony went to hug me. 

"Are you okay?" I asked as he hug me. He said he was fine. Then I looked at everyone."What about you guys?" I asked. 

"We could be better" Steve said smiling at me. I smiled back and felt Tony's stare at me. Then Clint introduced me to his family. Laura and their kids were so nice. It felt nice being in a regular home. They were talking and they said that they needed to stop Ultron. 

"I need your help to protect my family"Clint said and I nodded. 

"I will be here, protecting them" I said and then they prepare themselves. I was sitting on the porch when I heard some steps. Then I felt someone sitting next to me. I turned and saw Steve. 

"Are you okay?" He asked. 

"I think I'm the one that suppose to ask that question. Tony told me about the witch. Are you okay?" I asked. He smiled and then he nodded his head. 

"I will be okay, once we stop Ultron." He said and looked at me. 

"Please be save Soldier. " I said and looked at his blue eyes. 

"Like always" He said and looked at my eyes. Then he looked at my hand and touched it softly. I felt my heart beating super fast but then it broke a little when his hand turned into a fist. Like if it burned. I looked away and crossed my arms on my chest. 

"Minnie..." He whispered. 

"It's alright. I get it" I said as I looked down. 

"Look, I-" He started but was interrupted by the team. 

"Cap, ready?" Natasha said and then she looked at me. I got up and went to look for Tony. Leaving Steve and Natasha alone. 

STEVE P.O.V. 

What was wrong with me? Why do I feel this way? She was Howard's daughter. She is Tony's little sister. She could be my grandchild. But her smile, her eyes, her everything made me think of love. Did I love her? No, that is impossible. But there was something that didn't let me get away from her. But then I keep thinking she is so young, that I just can't be with her. 

Something that I know cause her pain, but I can't offer what she deserves. She deserves someone her age, someone that would be in the same era as her. I'm just a soldier, nothing special. Maybe Tony was  right, everything special from me, came from a bottle. I have to get away from her. For her own good. 

"Everything okay?" Natasha asked me when Minerva left inside the house. 

"Yeah" I said and walked to the jet. 

MINERVA'S P.O.V 

I was taking care of the Barton family. They were nice and they made me feel like family. Then one night, the jet came and Tony came and picked me up.He told me that we were moving to a compound and that was not going back to my apartment. That I could keep my job and school if I wanted but I was going to live with him. He needed me to be safe and the safest place was the compound. 

That meaned that I was going to live in the same roof as the mightys heroes. The avengers. I was going to be living under the same roof as Steve, Natasha, Tony and the new recluits, Wanda, Vision and Sam. Vision was a robot with the mind of JARVIS. I had my room and everything. The only thing that I had to share was the kitchen, living room and gym, which I never went. I hate working out. Like I once said to Tony "If you ever see me running, you better run because something is going on"

One morning, I woke up and went to the kitchen. As soon as Steve saw me enter the kitchen, he grab his coffee and left the room. 

"Good morning" I said to myself. I made myself a coffee and then went to school. I took a car that Tony gave me. I had a free day from work so after school I went to my car and then drove to a park. I needed some time to think. If Steve wanted to get away from me, I will respect that and get away myself. 

I was walking in the park when I felt someone following me. The last thing I saw was a masked man with long hair before I was knock down.
