The Sokovia Accords

MINERVA'S P.O.V 

A few days passed and I was working with Tony in the Maria Stark Foundation. We often went to different schools and give money to different programs.  We often go and do charity events and press conference. I was enjoying working for my brother and I enjoyed doing Avengers press conference. That gave me some more alone time with Steve since we often had to go to places together and noone suspects  anything. 

Wanda was the only one that knew our secret but she was being a great friend and was keeping it to herself. She often covered for us, which we were grateful. I had a couple of months dating Steve and I was starting to fall in love. He once took me to meet THE Peggy Carter, or like Tony called her aunt Peggy.  He introduced me as his girlfriend which made Peggy really happy. Peggy was such a sweet and caring women. Everytime we visited she would tell me stories of my father Howard Stark. He was so much like Tony. 

"I'm really happy that you both are dating. Steve deserves to live his life and you young lady deserves a great man like Steve." Peggy told me. 

"Thank you... that means alot to me" I said Peggy. Later that night, Tony and I had to go to MIT, he was going to be spoke man. Pepper was going to go with him but she asked Tony for some time. She needed some time for herself. Tony was sad but accepted, now, I have to go everywhere with him. 

He was talking to some students about some projects he often did and noone would fund. He gave a grant  to all students and aproved and funded all their projects, making everyone happy. 

"Shit!" I said to myself as I saw that the teleprompter had an introduction to Pepper Potts, which made Tony very upset. 

When Tony went out of the stage, I gave him a small smile. 

"I'm sorry.. they didn't have time to fix it" I apologized. He hugged me and kissed my head. 

"Is okay, I'm going to the restroom" He said. I knew he needed some alone time. 

"Sure, I'll get everything ready to go" I said as I kissed his cheek and walked away from him, my heels making noise. Sometimes I had to dress like a business women with skirts and shirts and fancy expensive heels, thanks to Tony. 

When I preper everything, I went to look for Tony and then saw he was talking to a women. She gave him  something and walked away, which made him very upset. 

"Everything okay?" I asked and then he looked at me and hugged me tight. "Hey, what's wrong?" I asked worried. 

"Let's just go home" He said as he hugged me. We then went to the car and he told me about the lady. She told him that he was guilty of causing her son's death in Sokovia. He was very upset. 

"I'm sorry Tony. But you guys have to do what you have to do. Unfortunally is part of this business. Protect people, but you can't always save them all". I said 

"Imagine if it would be you... I'll die" He said as he grabbed my hand. Then our phones beep and there was a news about Wanda causing the death of many in Lagos. We looked at each other. Then he received a call and then hang up.

"We will have a meeting withthe secretary of state. I want you to be with us, tehfoundation have to see about damage control" He said as he closed his eyes and rested his head. 

When we arrived, we went directly to the conference room. The Secretary of State said things like the Avengers were dangerous. I was sitting next to Tony and I didn't like this man. He showed some footage of some damage made by the fights that the avengers had made,  showing the Lagos footage that made Wanda unconfrotable. 

"Okay that is enough" Steve said in a serious voice. The secretary of state said that the avengers needed to be supervise. The United Nations wanted to be in control of the Avengers and that they will decided which cases they will assist. Everyone was looking at each other. I felt a lot of tension. 

"I think we had made a world a safer place" Steve said and then the secretary asked for Thor and Banner. They were missing. 

"What happens if we don't sign?" Natasha asked. 

"Then I suggest you retired" the secretary said and then he left. Everyone started to discuss which was better. We went to the living room and I sat on the couch with Tony. Steve started reading the The Sokovia Accords. Tony was resting his head on the couch and had his hand in his face while Rhodey and Sam started a discussion. If they should or not sign it. 

Everyone started discussing, then Natasha asked Tony that he was being rarely quiet. 

"That is because he made up his mind" Steve said looking at Tony and then at me. 

"Boy,  you know me too well. Also that I'm nursing a headache. That is what is going on cap, just pain." He then went to make some coffee and took some pain killer pills. Then Tony started saying about this kid, who was a great student and helped people. He was killled in Sokovia when a building fell on him. That was sad. We watched a picture of him. 

"There is no decision making process here. We need to put in check. Whatever form that takes, I'm game. With no budaries we're not better than the bad guys." Tony said as he cross his arms. I stood quiet watching everything and everyone. 

"Tony, someone dies on your watch, you don't give up" Steve said. 

"Who said we're giving up?" Tony asked. 

"We are if we're not taking responsability for our actions. This document just shifts tha blame" Steve said. 

Then Rhodey called Steve arrogant and said that the United Nations were the ones that wanted the control. Then they started to argue more. Then Steve's phone vibrate nd he excuse himself. 

"I have to go" He said as he walked out the door. We all looked at him and then I excuse myself. 

"Where are you going?" Tony asked as he raised a brow. 

"He is my bestfriend. I'm going to check on him" I said. 

"I thought I was your bestfriend." Tony said. 

"Tony..." I started. 

"Fine. Go.." Tony said and I walked and followed him. He went to the stairs and then I followed. 

"Steve?" I asked and then he looked at me. His eyes had tears and he had a really sad look. I just went and hugged him. 

"She died. Peggy died" He said as he hugged me.
