August 7, 1860
Henry Morgan had managed to organize all the buccaneers and establish a set system of rules and laws, unifying pirates from all over the globe. Annette had become Pirate King in 1729, as a result of a vote during the Fourth Brethren Court, which she was to hold that position until her death.
Annette upheld the pirate traditions which made her a beloved leader to all. She reigned the Seven Seas fairly. Some people thought that she was always meant to be King because she became immortal to the deadly works of time, and others still thought she was a witch. However, it was an elixir of life that Annette and Jack drank in 1755, which caused them to not age another day.
Annette and her crew upon Queen Anne's Revenge were docked in Nassau in the Bahamas when she received word that required the attention of every Pirate Lord. The song had been sung. The Bretheran Court was to meet again.
All the pirate lords had been waiting for their King to arrive as they sat around the table located in the middle of a fortress of Shipwreck Island. It's the same place they met a century earlier at the fourth court.
Jack held his wrist in front of him, whistling softly to try to make the time go by faster. He always knew that Annette was never one to be on time for anything, but he began to wonder if she achieved immortality like he did. He still wasn't sure what it was that made him not age, but he hoped Annette found it too. Of course she did, because she would be dead if she hadn't. She has lived far past her natural life.
The entire room soon had the light aroma of orange blossoms and vanilla. Annette had arrived and she stepped into the light, and everyone stood up at her presence out of respect. Jack looked around momentarily, confused as to why everyone was standing, before he scrambled up to his feet himself. He found himself in awe, because she had not aged a single day. She was still as lovely as he remembered.
The legend around Annette Levasseur has changed over time, but she has always remained well respected and admired for her generosity. Despite her kindness, that doesn't mean that she wasn't feared. Annette looked around intensely at the lords, until her eyes stopped at Jack. Her stone-cold approach was melted away when she saw him. She had to look away and clear her throat in order to remain composed.
"I call upon the Court to find a man, Nathanial Gordon. He has blatantly been ignoring the Piracy Law of 1820, by engaging in slave trading. People aren't cargo, and the President of the United States of America has requested us to assist in Gordon's capture," Annette revealed.
"How can we find one man in the entire world?" The new Lord of the Labrador Sea, Albert W. Hicks, asked.
"Today—" Annette began. As she was talking, someone was having a side conversation. With no patience for being interrupted, she grabbed her dagger and pointed it toward the two and said, "could you two stop talking before I heave this knife in your direction?" The two wordlessly became silent, and Annette said, "thank you," and turned back to everyone and continued her speech. "Today, on the 7th of August, 1860, Gordon loaded 897 slaves aboard his ship, Erie, at Sharks Point, Congo River, West Africa. There were only 172 men, and 162 women on board."
