The music was loud and the stench of beer and various other alcoholic drinks was strong. Haley was looking at Brooke dancing with Alex while she was dancing with Nathan.
"Nate! I have to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back! Okay?" Haley loudly said. Nathan shook his head yes and said "Okay, see you in a minute!" Then they let go of each other and Haley started making her way upstairs.
As Haley was opening the bathroom door and exiting it she felt someone grab her arm. As soon as she felt the hand she was pulled into the bedroom across from the bathroom.
"Hey!! What gives dude?!" Haley exclaimed whilst removing her arm from the strong grip, still not looking at the captor. When she finally looked up she saw... her brother Matt!
"Haley Bob James!!" Matt angrily said. "Why were you SLOW dancing with that BOY?" Haley glared at him and then started to giggle. "Wow, seriously Matt? You're mad I was dancing with Nathan? You love Nathan! You guys talk about basketball all the time, you're friends with him!"
Matt scoffed "Yeah! I'm friends with him when we talk about basketball, not when he's making googly eyes at my sister and putting hands on her!!" Haley rolled her eyes and said "He was NOT putting hands on me! We are JUST friends! God Carter, how many times have I told you that?!"
The James siblings stared angrily at each other until someone slowly opened the door. "Hey, um, Hales? Are you, uh, okay? I heard some yelling." Nathan softly popped the door all the way open. Haley sighed and then rubbed her hand across her face. "Hey Nate, Matt and I were just talking." She said to Nathan and then turned her body to face her brother. "Mattie, I'll see you at home. I'm leaving you alone now." Matt didn't say anything, just nodded and angrily stared at Nathan before his face turned soft then he kissed Haley on the forehead and softly smiled at her. Haley touched Matt's arm then walked over to Nathan, took his hand and before she left the room she waved at her eldest brother.
