Chapter 14

    Lucas and Peyton just had another fight. She broke up with him and called him a "selfish conniving ass." But he wasn't really upset. Peyton and him have been on and off for a long time and now he would be able to freely get Haley since he was single.
   
      Lucas was walking to the rivercourt and saw Nathan and Haley talking. He leaned in closer to hear what they were saying... "Fine I'll go to the party, but you are coming with me!" He heard Nathan say, waiting for Haley's reply. "Nateeeee." Haley whined. "No Hales you are coming to the party. I'll be there! Brooke will be there!" Nathan said while holding Haley's hand and swinging it back and forth. "Okay! Nathan I'll go with you " Haley stated as Nathan missed her forehead and walked off the rivercourt.

     Haley heard a rustling in the bushes. She turned around and saw Lucas walking onto the court. Lucas yelled "Hey sweetheart! I heard your going to the party. Wanna go with me?" Haley looked at him with wide eyes and started to laugh. In between her cackling she said"First off you have a girlfriend, so you really shouldn't be asking me out. And second I'm going with Nate."
  
    "Well Haley you have to rethink that first reason. Because Peyton broke up with me." Lucas said while taking a solum face. Haley looked up at him and said "Oh. I'm sorry Lucas. No one deserves to get broken up with... Even if they are a major ass."

      Lucas did a little laugh at the last part. "Yeah I guess I am an ass. If I get broken up with and a really sweet girl won't even talk to me." They traded looks for a second and then Lucas started to walk away. "Wait!" Haley called. "I might see you at the party and it would probably be a little rude not to talk to you. Right?" Lucas turned around for a second and said "Yeah. I'll see you then." And then he left the rivercourt with Haley thinking about how bad this could end.
