Chapter 8

Karen was walking to the front door of the cafe, just in time to see Lucas walking out of it. She eyed him suspiciously as he smiled at her charmingly, she rolled her eyes at this and thought "just like his father" and continued walking as someone came up from behind her and grabbed her hand. She turned around to see Keith.

At this she smiled as he continued to walk with her and spoke "Hey Kare." She smiled up at him and was beginning to speak the pair walked into a tall figure. "Oh my god, I didn't see you guys." Nathan said to his mother and the only father figure he has ever had. Karen looked into the window of the cafe to see what Nathan was looking at, her eyes suddenly stopped at Haley and Karen saw her slightly bent over to pick up napkins that were scattered across the floor under a table. Karen then lightly slapped her son on the chest with her purse. "Ma!! What was that for?" Nathan said as his eyes widened. Keith started to laugh as he saw what Karen looked at before she "pursed" her son. "Oh Nate are you serious? I knew you liked Haley!" Nathan scoffed and spoke. "Keith, I do not like Haley. She's just my best friend and nothing more."

Both Karen and Keith looked at each other and at the same time said "Definitely, because that is why you were so infatuated with her ass." Nathan's eyes widen at this as the pair walked into the Cafe.

Haley was walking home after her shift at the Cafe. She was about one street from her house and then she heard a voice. "A beautiful girl should not be walking alone at this time of night." She kept walking as she noticed footsteps trailing close behind her. "Its eight o clock." Haley said as she rolled her eyes at the scoffing noise.

The man came up from behind her and started walking backwards next to her. It was none other than Lucas Scott, of course. Haley kept walking and Lucas continued to walk next to her until she finally spoke. "Okay Lucas I understand that you bother me at school and all because you wanna mess with Nate, but the least you could do is not bother me outside of school. Or you could just stop bothering me in general and leave me alone, how does that sound? Cause it sounds pretty damn good to me."

After that Haley started walking again to her house and she got to the driveway when Lucas grabbed her arm and started to talk. "Haley I'm sorry if I am bothering you but I am not talking to you just to get to Nathan. I like really enjoy your company." Haley rolled her eyes and as she was about to speak her third oldest brother Matt walked out of the front door. "Hales? Whats going on?" Matt started walking until he got to his sister. He looked Lucas in the eye. (Matt was a tall person standing at about 6'5) Lucas returned Matt's look. "Lucas let me go. Matt stop your testosterone battle." Haley said as she expected Lucas to let her go, but he didn't. Matt then took Lucas's hand off of Haley's arm and said "When my sister tells you to let her go you let her go, ass." Haley rubbed her arm because Lucas's grip was quite hard, her brother then took her hand and walked her inside with him. Lucas smirked at this and then started walking.
