Chapter 26

The weekend had quickly passed by and it was time for school again.

Haley walked down the stairs of her house. Partially dressed for the day because she was wearing black yoga pants and a "Keith Scott Body Shop" sweatshirt, that Nathan had left at her house sometime.

The house was already awake, loud and rambunctious as always. Lydia was making coffee as Jimmy and Carter were making breakfast. Jimmy on pancake duty and Carter on egg and toast duty. Matt and Alex were already sitting at the island in the kitchen.

"Morning Bob." Matt said as Haley walked up to the coffee maker, reaching above to grab a mug and quickly filled up the mug. Haley turned to face her brothers and put up one finger before blowing on the hot coffee, as to not burn her mouth, and took a long sip. Carter laughed and pointed at Matt saying, "She one hundred percent got that from you bro." Matt got out of his seat and flicked Carter on the head. "Boys stop fighting." Lydia put on her motherly tone as she saw the two older boys hitting each other, from her seat at the island.

Haley went over to the cupboard and got out plates as her father was finishing up the pancakes. She grabbed a plate for everybody and set them down on the island. A pancake, blueberry, was put on everyones plate followed by toast and eggs. Scrambled for everyone but Haley, who preferred over easy eggs.

The family sat down together to eat and made small talk for fifteen minutes before Haley looked at the time and got up from her seat. At the same time that she was putting her plate in the dishwasher, the door to the kitchen opened up and Nathan walked in with two coffees from his mothers cafe.

"Hey everybody." Nathan said as he leaned against the counter. He was wearing black jeans and a blue shirt, with grey sneakers. The James family all greeted Nathan. Alex had walked back into the kitchen after putting on his shoes and sniggered at Nathans outfit. "Hale, you and Nate are matching." Alex stated, which in turn made the rest of the family analyze the outfits and they started to laugh. The friends were matching in color, Haley had a grey sweatshirt to match Nathan's sneakers, both were wearing black pants and Nathans shirt was the same shade of blue as Haley's chucks.

Haley turned around and glared at her brothers, hoping to make them stop talking but the brothers started laughing even harder, throwing in comments about them matching. When Nathan got a look at Haley's face, he started laughing too. "Oh honey you look so serious." Lydia said to her youngest. Haley looked at her mother and rolled her eyes but smiled.

"Okay guys, I would love to stay here and keep watching you laugh but I have to get to school, Nate are you coming with?" Haley inquired. Nathan nodded his head, grabbed Haley's bag for her and opened the door. Nathan handed her the coffee he had brought as she walked out the door, quickly saying goodbye to her family.

Nathan and Haley were a couple blocks away from her house, walking towards the school as they heard a faint, "GUYS, wait for me!" They both turned around and laughed as they saw Alex running towards them, since they had left the house without him.

Alex was running to them, at an extremely fast pace. "I never thought I would see him going to school this fast." Haley teased. Nathan sipped on his coffee and started walking again when Alex reached them, huffing and puffing because of his sprint.
