Chapter 24

The week had passed. It was finally Friday. And the gym was packed.

Haley walked into the gym, next to her brother Matt. Wearing blue bootcut jeans, a white t shirt, and black chucks. Accompanied by the number 23, painted on her left cheek in blue.

"Look Hales, there's your boy." Matt said, slightly pushing into Haley, to get her attention. She looks over to see Nathan practicing his free throw shots alongside one of his teammates, Jake.

Nathan makes eye contact with Haley and as she waves, he shoots the ball into the hoop, winking at her in the process. Haley scoffs and rolls her eyes, but starts blushing simultaneously.

The James siblings take a seat in the second row of the bleachers, beside Keith and Karen. Waiting for the game to start.

Both of the teams had gone back to their locker rooms at this point. With the gym lights dimming, the fans knew it was almost time.

"Presenting.... YOUR TREE HILL RAVENS!!" Screamed Mouth through the microphone, as the boys began to jog out of the locker room. "We have a new starting player tonight, number 23 Nathan Scott! Standing at 6'3, give a tree hill welcome to our newest shooting guard!" Mouth exclaims, as the crowd starting cheering, even some whistling happens.

The guys go over to the bench, waiting for coach whitey to speak. The lights are turned back on as the other team huddles up.

Nothing happens for a second. All of the ravens pull into a circle formation as their coach speaks. The starting lineup consists of Lucas, Nathan, Jake, Alex, Tim and a guy named Logan.

Nathan and a tall boy from the opposing team meet in the middle of the court. One of the refs tosses the ball into the air, Nathan passing it to somebody on the Ravens side. "And we're off!" Mouth exclaims as the game starts into action.
