Chapter 2 (6 months later)

Karen got out of her car struggling. It wasn't that easy with her progressing baby bump. She walked out from the Duke parking lot and saw Dan. He was sitting on a bench looking through something (probably a current playbook) just as she was about to walk over a blonde haired girl sat down beside him. Her stomach showed the hintest sign of a baby bump. Dan gave her a kiss on the forehead and rubbed his hand over her stomach. At that exact moment Karen got back in her car and drove back to tree Hill.

A very loud knock woke up Keith Scott. He answered the door to find his best friend Karen standing at his door with tear stained cheeks. She explained to him the situation with her, Dan and the blonde who she learned was named Deb. "Don't worry Karen everything will be alright." Keith said while pulling Karen in for a hug.

"I don't want Dan anywhere near my child." Karen said her words muffled into his chest.

(3 months after)
It was May 20th. Karen had just had her baby. It was a boy and she named him Nathan Scott. The first one to hold Nathan after his mother was his uncle Keith. Dan never showed up. A few months later on August 15th another Scott was born to the newlyweds of Dan and Deb Scott. They named him Lucas.
Both families lived in one tree Hill. Karen decided to keep Nathan far away from his father and brother. Keith helped Karen take care of the baby boy. Karen eventually opened up a cafe in town called "Karen's Cafe" one of the best spots in town.
Lucas was raised by his mother and father. Nathan was raised by his mother and uncle Keith... Even without a father he was better off.
