Natasha's POV

It all started at a party. Obviously, a Stark party. No, I didn't want to be here. Yes, I was in fact blackmailed to come. No, I was not forced to wear something overly formal or whatnot. Though, since I was going anyway, I chose to wear something at least a little bit appropriate for a party like this. No, I was not just going to show up in jeans and a T-shirt. No, I still did not want to be here.

So, that is how I landed up here, at the edges of the party, a drink in hand, and angrily tapping in morse code about how much I hated everyone, life, and Stark. No, I did not intentionally do it. It was a subconscious thing. I was so caught up with my thoughts that when someone tapped back, I was scared out of my mind.

You ok? I heard. Well more like I felt. I was tapping against a large pillar, made out of a weird metal that faintly vibrates when knocked against. It was round, so I couldn't see anyone on my side who caused the vibrations. The feeling was very subtle, and you had to have excellent sense to even pick up on it, never mind docode that it was morse code and not just random tapping.

No. I tapped back. Stark made me come to this stupid party. Blackmails a bitch. I heard laughter from the other side of the pillar.

Same. But it was more of a threat. Like a 'If you don't come I'll make sure you will never be able to get blue food coloring to make your food blue. I was confused by this.

That doesn't sound too bad. I replied. There was a pause before the person responded.

You are more disappointing than an unsalted pretzel.

So that's how we got talking. I learned her name was Percy Jackson, that she had ADHD and dyslexia, that she had a terrible case of 'wrong place wrong time', that she used to go to summer camp every summer and the people there were like her family, that she was a world renowned scientist, marine biologist, that she had a company that was like a beach clean up, water clean up, unpoluty water thing, (That's how she described it), and that she owned three of the most popular and animal friendly aquariums in the world.

I, on the other hand, told her that my name was Natasha Romanoff, that I was the Black Widow, (obviously), and a little about the red room. I told her how I had to kill all those girls. How it was kill or be killed. How I learned to survive too early on. She said she got that part, and I have a feeling that she really did. Then, I told her about meeting Clint, and then how everyone at S.H.I.E.L.D would whisper about me as I passed through the halls. How they would always say that I would stab them in the back, or that I was a traitor. After a few months though, it stopped. Most of them learned to trust me.

Lucky. She had tapped when I got to this part. Most of the people I trusted turned their backs on me, said I was a traitor, that I was working for the enemy. After all I did for them. Even my girlfriend. Now there are only a few of them that I even talk to. The ones who didn't betray me. Those ones are my real family. I guess for me it just happened in reverse order. After that we exchanged more stories. It lasted until the end of the night, when there were only a few people left. I still didn't know what she looked like, but she promised that she would come back at the next party. We both agreed to not see what each other looked like, even though we could just look it up on the internet. It was fun, the mystery of not knowing who you were talking to. Sure, it was a little risky. She could be a HYDRA agent for all I know. But I trusted Percy. More than I had trusted anyone in a long time.

Yes, at the next Stark party, I willingly came with no complaints. Yes, everyone was a little suspicious, but I of course made sure that no one would be thinking about it. Yes, Percy and I got chatting (tapping) again at the same pillar. And yes, it happened again after that. And again. And again, and again, and again. After about the 12 party, Percy decided to tell me that she was a demigod. First, she made me swear on the river Styx not to tell anyone, and then went on to explain how the Greek and Roman gods were real. And the monsters. She told me of her adventures. The wars. She briefly explained her time in Tartarus. And that she was Hurricane Spider, a vigilante doing basically the same thing as Spiderman. And then we had to say goodbye. The next party, I explained the red room more in depth. And then the next one, Percy told be about the betrayal. And we kept on switching more stories, new and old. And then, at one party, she told me about her time in Tartarus. And 'smelly Gabe' as she dubbed him.

*And then the dreaded mission came.

"Avengers, this is your new target. She has been a suspected terrorist since the time she was twelve, and has recently been spotted slaughtering a cheerleader in Central Park." Fury tossed a file on the table. "Her name is Perseus Jackson." I choked on my own spit.

"I'm sorry, WHAT!" I asked him. Everyone seemed a little taken aback from my outburst. I usually just do whatever without asking questions. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. "Look, Percy's not a terrorist. Most of what happened to her was that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and she didn't kill a cheerleader." Fury raised an eyebrow.

"Oh really. Well then, Mis. Romanoff, if you know her so well, why don't you try and catch her so that she can tell us that herself. S.H.I.E.L.D has been trying to get her for years, but she always manages to slip through our clutches. I don't suspect you'll be able to do any better, Agent Romanoff." I roll my eyes. He doesn't think I can do it. But I will always accept a dare.

"Oh really." I raise an eyebrow. "Stark, organize a party. I'll have her by the end of tonight." I say and leave.

And true to my word, I had her by the end of the night. It wasn't that difficult to get her to comply. I just asked her to do me a favor, she asked if she could prank some high power dude and piss off someone who thinks they can kill her with a snap of their fingers, it was a win win situation. So when the party ended, we both stepped around the pillar to look at each other. And she was beautiful. Her raven black hair flowed down her back like a waterfall, her green eyes sparkled like a glittering sea, and her tan skin looked supers soft and perfect. I guided her through some halls into the elevator, which took us to the Avengers common room where Fury would be waiting. We chatted along the way, and her voice was smooth and soothing. It was very different though. We were used to not being able to see each other, by just communicating with taps. But I liked it.

When we got to the common room, everyone was waiting for us. They were all surprised to see me there, I'm pretty sure Fury told them about all the times she had escaped, and now, looking at the two of us, neither of us had a scratch on us. Percy didn't even have handcuffs on!

"How did you get her here, Romanoff?" Fury asked in his rough voice. Percy scoffed.

"She asked." She said. I rolled my eyes and turned to Fury.

"We're each doing each other a favor. She came with me to answer your questions, she gets to...well, let's keep her side of the bargain a secret for now." I said, a glint of mischief in my eyes. I could see everyone was intrigued.

"We've tried both asking and bargaining, she's always said no." Fury said, more annoyed now.

"You weren't offering the right things." Percy said.

"Anyway, I got her, pay up." I said. Everyone grumbled and handed me a twenty dollar bill, while Percy just snickered.
