Chapter 3: Scoring the Record Deal

Lauren's POV

I was sitting down on the couch, my feet spread onto the table in front of me. I was listening to some music on my iPod, it had been almost a week since we were off the X Factor. We came in third place although I was little upset, I was still happy that we had made it so far. Just as my eyes were falling shut I heard a scream and I got to my feet it was Ally, she was jumping up and down like a six year old girl who had her sugar rush. The rest of Fifth Harmony gathered to see what was wrong.

"Ally!" Dinah spoke up first, 'What's wrong?" 

I heard another scream, "Guys, guess who I was talking to on the phone?" She squealed.

We all stared at her confused. Why was she so excited? 

"Who? Ally." This time I spoke. 

"It was Simon Cowell!" She sung on the top of her voice. We all jumped in closer to her, holding hands.

"And what did he say?" Chided Normani. We hadn't talked to Simon since the end of the X Factor receiving a phone call from him was a surprise. 

"He said we" She made a dramatic pause, "Have."

"Have what?" I couldn't take the excitement anymore.

'A record deal!" She yelled which resulted in all of of screaming, laughing, crying and hugging. We were ecstatic. An actual record deal, this meant we could actually pursue singing as career.

"It's a one million dollar contract!" She said between tears. "And we have to meet him tonight at the universal records recording studio."

"No way!" We all shouted at once afterwards laughing.

"Yes!" Ally yelled back. My long hair bobbled over my shoulders, as us five jumped up and down, the neighbours must've thought we were crazy. I smiled our dreams were coming true.

"Simon!" Camila yelled jumping into his arms. He seemed startled and pushed her away.

"Hi Camila!" She grinned whilst the rest of us laughed at her.

"So I hope" He looked at Ally, "that Ally has told you how proud I am of you five girls and about the record deal for one million dollars." 

We all screamed at once jumping up and down. Simon smiled before continuing again.

"I hope you five girls will enjoy the same success as Destiny's Child and the Spice Girls." He grinned whilst we all smiled at him.

"I hope so!" I chided. 

"One more thing" Simon said his voice serious, "In order for you to keep your record deal you must collaborate with One Direction to make 2 original songs."

We all gasped. One Direction was the most famous boy band today. They consisted of five boys just like us and had a huge fan base. When I mean huge, I mean thousands of screaming hormonal teenage girls at their door step. 

"You have six months, which means six months of rooming and living until two songs are done."

We all groaned it's not like we didn't like One Direction but six months to work on two songs with them would be hard. 

"Good luck girls, one direction will be here in 15." He chided before walking out the door. I saw Camila run over to hug Simon but Dinah grabbed her arm before she could. We all sat down on the waiting table waiting for One Direction to come. 

"I think Harry is the cutest!" bubbled Camila.

"Personally I like Liam." I put in. 

"Zayn is sooo cute! Liam is my second favorite!" Ally put in.

We all giggled as I heard the door open. "Is Fifth Harmony here?" said the husky voice of Zayn Malik. We had met One Direction already during the X Factor too but it was a short meeting so, we barely knew them. 

"We're here!"

We all jumped. Camila took Zayn by surprise and toppled him down. I laughed, I was more of the serious one from Fifth Harmony. I looked at Dinah even she couldn't help but ogle over them, they were the most famous boy band after all. 

I looked on the ground to see Camila on top of Zayn. Liam walked over to me.

"Hey Lauren!" He said.

"Hi Liam! We're-" He cut into my sentence.

"I know making two songs together Paul told me today."

I smiled, Liam was my personal favorite. We both walked over to join the rest of the people. I looked over Camila who was straightening out her hair from her bustle with Zayn. I saw the look on Zayn's face, he kept touching his hair. Oooh! Camila was going to get it, she ruined Zayn's hair that's why. 

"Camila!" I ushered her over, "You touched Zayn's hair!"

"I didn't mean to!" Was the only thing I could catch from her rapid anxiousness. 

"Tsk girlie your gonna get it." She laughed nervously. We all knew how much Zayn loved his hair. My attention caught Ally's she and Harry were caught in each other's eyes. Those two love birds. From the last time she met she couldn't stop babbling about Harry. Now that they have 6 months together, I was sure those two would date. 

"Get a room will ya'" I yelled at Harry and Ally. They snapped out of it and from the corner of my eye I saw Niall and Liam laughing.

"Omg Harry stop staring ,we know you wanna kiss her!" said Niall. I saw Harry's cheeks go red as he ran over to tackle Niall. I laughed and saw Ally turn red. She may be small but she was the oldest in our group. 

"Lauren you didn't have to say that." She laughed and smacked me on the leg. 

"Oh please you should've seen the look on your face you two love birds." I laughed.

"But-" She was cut midway as Simon walked through the door with an unknown lady.

"Camila, Ally, Normani, Dinah, Lauren." He said while pointing to all of us. "That's Fifth Harmony."

"Hi!" She said in a high pitched voice I knew this one would get on my nerves.

"This is Mandy! She will take care of you while I'm not here, consider her your manager." Simon said to us. 

"Okay!" Dinah said for all of us.

"Next, this is One Direction consisting of Niall, Liam, Zayn, Louis and Harry." Also pointing to each one of them.

"Hi mates!" She said in a terrible fake British accent.

One Direction tried to stifle a laugh but failed.

"What's wrong?" Simon also noticed and started to smile. 

She stared blankly at them and we all started laughing together.

"I'm so confused." said Mandy. 

Simon cleared his throat, "I will leave you eleven alone." He grinned before leaving. Well, this will be interesting.
