Arnav POV

He had just finished checking Di up.

"Arnav, was your Di suffering from depression, like really bad depression?" He asked.

I nodded.

"That's the reason, then. Main kuch medicines likh raha hu, give them to her regularly, aur use kisi bhi tarah ke depression se door rakhna." (I'm prescribing some medicines, and keep her away from any kind of depression.) The doctor said, and left.

"Dhruv." I heard mumbling.

She was talking in her unconscious state.

"I love you. I can't live anymore without you." She said.

I looked at Mom and Dad, who nodded at me silently.

We all covered Di up in her sheets, and went downstairs.

"Ab hum kya kare, Ma? Di ki aise halaat aur bigadte hi jay to?" (What do we do now, Mom? What if Di's condition will keep on deteriorating?)

"Arnav, ab sirf bhagvan par bharosa kar sakte hai." (Arnav, now we can trust only on God.) She replied.

"That's true. But God is doing very unfair things to my Di." I said, almost on the verge of tears.

Dad kept a hand on my shoulder.

"Sab thik ho jayga, beta. Don't worry." (Everything will be fine, son) He said.

"Wait. I think I know what we can do." Mom suddenly said.

"What?" I asked.

She told us her plan, but I thought it was weird and not going to work.

I went to my room to think abaout it.

"Arnav, agar uski shaadi ho jay to use Dhruv ki yaad hi nahi aaygi. It's for her good!" (Arnav, if she gets married then she won't even remember Dhruv.)

Her voice echoed in my head.

I rushed out of my room.

"Okay. Let's give it a try. But not today, okay?" I said.

"Okay." Mom said.

Suddenly, I heard a door opening.

Di, clasping her forehead, coming out of her room.

"Di!" I ran up to her.

"Chhote - kya hua tha mujhe?" (Chhote - what had happened to me?) She asked, her voice low.

"Kuch nahi, Di. Aur tum khudse kyu uth rahi ho? Mujhe bula sakti thi." (Nothing, Di. And why did you come by yourself? You could've called me.) I said, holding her hand, and taking her downstairs.

She looked at the clock.

"Chhote - dopahar ke do baj rahe hai? Mujhe kam par jana padega." (Chhote - it's 2 in the afternoon? I have to go to work.) She said.

"Nahi. Tum kahi nahi ja rahi ho. Maine tumhare boss ko phone kiya tha. Unhone leave diya hai." (No. You're not going anywhere. I called your boss. She's given you a leave today.) I said.

I made her sit, but she'd turned a little tearful, perhaps remembering the events of this afternoon, as she brushed a tear that fell from her eye.

"It's okay, ab sab thikh ho jayga." I said, hugging her. (Now everything will be fine soon.)

She hugged me back, hard, but I knew she needed me, so I didn't move.

She dislocated from me, nodded, and smiled.

'I promise you Di, you'll begin a new life now, without any worry.' I thought.

Four years later....

Smita POV

A/N - Hey. It's me again. Smita. I'm writing. And the place where Chhote's POV started to here was his writing.

"Just stop lying!" I yelled at Kabir.

"I've seen you too, Kabir. You  - just." Arnav said. "And we have proof."

"What proof?" Kabir asked.

Arnav played an audio on his phone, Naina's and his conversation last night.

"I've beared you for 1 and a half years! I can't believe you were just using me for sex!" I shouted.

Naina was silently weeping in one corner.

"And, that too, you raped my best friend? Are you serious?"

"Just get out. It's over." I said, pushing him out of the door, and locking it.

I rushed to Naina.

Flashback - Yesterday night, December 2nd, 2020.

Hey!! It's Smita!! Well, let me just get you on track. Ankit and I broke up 2 years ago. It's a little personal issue.

But, I have my amazing boyfriend, Kabir with me since one and a half years!!

He's coming over this night, and he told me he wanted me. So, yeah.

And...another thing, Dad's been forcing me to get married since five years, showing me some boy or the other. Geez!

I won't ruin your mood now, though.

The doorbell rang after 5 minutes.

I rushed downstairs, hugging Kabir.

"Hey, babe." He smirked.

We chatted a bit with our parents and Chhote, and Naina had come over too.

Soon, we went to my room, and had each other for a long time. I'd fallen asleep after that.

I woke in the middle of the night, feeling thirsty, seeing no Kabir beside me. Neither were his clothes.

I dressed and went down to get some water. I drank it, and started looking for Kabir.

I heard muffled little screams from a door, and saw something that shattered me down.

I went away, silently, and called Arnav.

He saw too, and was shocked.

My boyfriend - making out love - with my best friend?

"Why are you doing this to me? Smita needs to see your reality." I heard Naina.

He slapped her across her face, and I winced.

"She will never believe you, I've always given her what she wanted, and taken her, because I only use her for her body." He snarled at her, and I closed my eyes, tight. I ran away.

Arnav had come after me.

"Di, are you - " He started.

"I'm better than okay. I'm just really angry. We need to expose this man, Chhote." I said.

Chhote smirked as he pulled his phone out of his t - shirt's pocket.

I hugged him.

"Thank You, Chhote. You're the best brother ever." I said.

Flashback over

"Naina, ab sab thik hai." I hugged her. (Everything's fine now.)

"He's raped me so brutally, Smita. And, really, I didn't do anything. Please don't break our friendship." She cried.

"Why would I? I know you're not at fault. I saw everything, okay?" I said.

We calmed her down, and sent her home. I explained everything to her parents, and they comforted Naina. I went home after that.

"Are you okay?" Arnav asked, as I entered.

"Obviously. He was a brat, Chhote. Not 0.1% sad, I promise." I laughed.

"Okay, then." He smiled.

"Madhu!" Dad came to me, with a wide grin on his face.

"Oh, no!" I groaned, face - palming my forehead.
