"FOOL." Kim Jang Mi burst into laughter. She laugh so hard tears on her eyes. Wiping it with her fingers. "I never thought that all these years I've been grooming my son to be a traitor." She flop herself on the side of her bed crossing her legs.
"Im Nara, she urge him to sell the serum uri Nam Jae hyeong had develop using my own blood and body composition. The latest development he did was successful. They can use it as perfect prototype but in a limited span only. Anyone who acquire the serum will have a privilege to gain my ability, strength and speed but not my gift." She lean herself over the wall near the vanity mirror.
But with an exception to Nam Ji Won, as their asset."
Her face became dark. "She's just a child. How could they put her into that situation? They can't compare you to her. You're special since conception."
"I know that's why its shocked me why Im Nara and hyeong pushed that far? So clearly, they can use their children as collateral just to sate their greed."
"I don't think its all greed alone." She lean, leaning her elbows into her lap thinking. "How about Jaeya? How did you persuade him?"
"I got my ways. He's willing to cooperate. But if you'll allow me to do this, then you'll have to give up your chairmanship for the time being." She raise her brow quite challenging her mother.
"I don't mind having a vacation, I know he'll never let the company down. He's capable but I'm afraid he'll be in trouble by the method he used. You know we should have to play dirty. Politics makes the company run.
But with how he used his own method I'm afraid it'll backfire him real deal. He got no gift that he can use as leash to those insatiable vultures. I weary he can't turn the table once it happened."
"That's why it's an opportunity to us to develop something out of the box."
"What do you mean?" She got curious so she told her about it. Explain it and convince her. Its quite interesting and very futuristic. Contemplating it and gave her answer.
After silence succumbs then for a one full minute.
"Haven't you regretted living the life you have right now? Being born to this family? And having a mother like me?" Kim Jang Mi ask her sincerely. Her eyes averted somewhere. She can't look her in the eyes.
She feared she could read it directly in her eyes.
"Have you?" She answered her with a question. "Seeing how we shattered and being bind by the fact that we're family?" Their eyes met. "I know you ask the same question eomma."
"Tedaphae." She stand. "Tell me, have you or haven't you?"
She stand properly and move few steps forward. "I do. I've regretted it a lot." Her mother gulp heavily. She finally heard it straight from her. Tasting the same pain she gave to her deceased mother, especially when she gave birth to Rain. Clenching her fist tightly.
Hajiman...that regrets turned to a never ending gratitude."
"Mwo?" Her statement stunned her. It surprise her. Something she never expected from her daughter after how she raised her to be.
"A certain time of my life I was grateful having a kind of life. For the first time I never regretted being your daughter and being the next leader.
That fuels me to excel and push myself to the limit. I got all the resources and privileges no other people have I should've waste. Most importantly I'm a class of my own."
