*ATHULE*
I get inside his car and he closes hind me and then he goes to his side and drives off. I’m quietly playing with my phone as he drives off. After speaking to Thabo I told Mimi that she didn’t have to come with me. I just got off work and my appointment is set for 5pm because I know how gynae’s can be at times. Specialists are just generally late.
“Thank you for calling me last night” he says and I look up at him and not respond continuing with my game. I’m playing Crazy Diner, it's a game where you have to serve customers their orders, with each level it gets more hectic and difficult. I love it because it relaxes me and I get to forget everything that’s happening in the world.
“How are the sicknesses?” he asks after some time of silence. I pause the game because clearly this man will not give me the peace I want.
“They still the same” I say and he nods.
“That stunt you pulled with my parents Thabo, I don’t appreciate it. You went behind my back, how am I expected to trust you after this?” I ask him and he lets out a breath.
“I’m sorry. I know I went about things the wrong way, I was scared to lose you Athule, I still am. My desperation to be with you is making me act out of character. No amount of apologies or gifts or even money can begin to excuse what I have put you through” he says.
I keep quiet for a whle trying to think of the best possible answer “Get rid of the sex club” I say and he looks at me “If you want to earn my trust then you need to get rid of the sex club, sell it or something, I don’t care what you do with it but as long as you have no affiliation with it” I say, it's a test to see what he’s willing to lose.
He steals a glance at me and then lets out a cold sigh “Fine. I’ll sell it” he says, I thought he would argue or something but he doesn’t. “Is there anything else you would like me to get rid of?” he asks me.
“Move to pretoria permanently” I say.
“I’ll talk to a real estate agent today” he says.
“Why are you easily agreeing to everything?” I ask him and he shrugs his shoulder.
“It's the only way you’ll believe that I’m serious about you, about our relationship I guess” he says.
“So no argument or whatsoever? You just going to get rid of your baby and move to this side?” I challenge.
“If that’s what you want Athule then I’ll do it” he says, he seems drained.
“Thank you” I say and he nods and returns his full attention on the road.
We park the car and we both get off and head inside. We check in at the reception and then sit down and wait for my turn to be called. By the time my name is called the time is 17:10pm, we make our way to the gynae and he asks me all these questions and then has me lay on my back on the bed in his office before he smears a cold gel on my stomach and then he runs the scanner on my lower abdomen and has us look at the monitor.
“You are pregnant alright. Can you hear that?” he asks increasing the volume.
He points at a black dot on the screen “And that’s your little one, that’s a very strong heartbeat” he says.
“How far is she?” Thabo asks.
“Give or take, 18 weeks” Doc says and I look at Thabo.
“That can't be right” I say.
“that’s what it says here Miss Jones. We can send your blood samples to the lab for better results if you would like” he says.
“That won't be necessary. Thank you doc” Thabo says.
