why?
why did you abandon me without warning?
a sudden silence replaces what was once
left me bruised, aching and broken-hearted
my heart –
shattered into a million tears
each memory embedded
stuck like stubborn glue
not so long ago we ached of laughter
now we pass by, avoid glances
like strangers
your love was woven into me
as I was unaware
that
gradually,
these small butterflies
which lay in my stomach
would blossom
into some unknown beauty
there was a time
when we had a connection
now passing by like strangers
never known each other
never said the common "hello"
never ran to each other
never ached of laughter
never watched
as we left each other's sight
i would've passed you by
without knowing what love is
would've had my heart belong to someone else
would've chased
missed
and thought -
of someone else
tell me;
why did you leave?
