she watches with care

as if he was a china cup about to break

his presence leaves like a dying flame

staining her conscience

don't go! her heart screams

are you even real?

she questions

the queries

the secrets

paranoia

pain

doubts

confessions

but the flame is still lit

oblivious – he fades into the rain

her petals start to fall

and he notices;

the pain, the change

a haunting shame

and resurrection of secrecy

...don't go! her heart screams

if only...

fading into embers
