Jiang Cheng huffed, crossing his arms over his chest and shooting a withering glare at Lan Xichen. "Huan-ge~"

Jiang Cheng knew this would be awkward. He knew that an omega in his heat walking around Cloud Recesses was not something that could be easily explained. He knew that he had been foolish and out of line. He knew that his classmates would feel embarrassed around him. He knew- knew that it would not be easy to regain all the face that Yunmeng had lost.

But he didn't know how awkward it would be- didn't know just how difficult it fucking was.

He huffed, a scowl starting to form on his face. Fucking hell, this was hard. These horny bastards were really testing his patience. They acted like he couldn't see their hungry stares and lustful looks.

Well, he wasn't blind.

And even if he were, it'd still be pretty hard to miss the sharp intakes of breath every time he drew near.

He rolled his eyes. Goddammit, this was getting on his nerves. Jiang Cheng wasn't sure how much longer of this he could take.

He was about to get up and excuse himself- when a figure suddenly made its way over to him. It was a disciple in dark green and grey robes. And by the looks of it, he was a young master of the Yao Sect.

Jiang Cheng frowned. What the fuck did he want?

"Did you need something?" he asked, arching an uninterested brow at the young master.

"Yes," the young man replied, a cheeky grin on his face.

Jiang Cheng felt himself squirming in his seat. There was something off about this man- something filthy about his demeanor. Just looking at him made Jiang Cheng feel like he was swimming in sewage, something nasty and repulsive. He looked like Jin Guangshan- a smarmy, slimy bastard.

"What do you want?" he asked, scowling as he glared at the Yao Sect's young master. "If you have nothing to say, then fuck off."

The man's brows furrowed. "Don't be like that A-Cheng!" he whined, placing a flirtatious hand on Jiang Cheng's arm. "You know... being an omega in heat must've been horrible. Your mate... he certainly wouldn't have given you what you needed. Perhaps it's time to... resort to other methods? I would be willing to help?" he murmured, shooting Jiang Cheng another oily smile.

Jiang Cheng shuddered, yanking his arm back in disgust. Who the fuck did this guy think he was? Since when did the Yao Sect get so brave? Those willing to offend two out of the five major sects- were very few people indeed. Nevermind the fact that Jiang Cheng's betrothed was none other than the famed Zewu Jun.

Besides Qishan Wen, no one else would've dared talk to Jiang Cheng like that.

He glowered, rage flickering to life in his violet eyes. "Go rot in hell," he sneered, scoffing at the look of horror that crossed the young master's face. "I don't need your help. And if you ever offer again, I will cut you into pieces with Sandu."

Young Master Yao's eyes widened with fear. "N-Now, now Young Master Jiang, t-there's no need for that. It was just a j-jest! I'll be leaving now," he stammered, backing away with his hands head up placatingly.

Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes. What a coward. All bark and no bite. Truly nothing like his Huan-ge.

He got up, bowing low to his uncle. "May I be excused?" he asked, keeping his head down. It was proper etiquette to show respect to his elders, and Jiang Cheng was not going to let some fawning fools stop him from making the Lan Sect proud.
