The first thing Ophelia smelt on the morning of her birthday was a present that was placed on her bedside table, wrapped in scented blue wrapping paper and a ribbon.

Ophelia cracked open an eye, to find the girl's dormitory empty, she assumed that they had gone down to breakfast without her and she smiled at the thought of waffles with honey and whipped cream for breakfast.

Lifting herself up onto her pillow, she brushed some of her wispy blonde hair out of her face as she pulled the present onto her lap, tearing into it she found a box filled with a lovely musky rose-scented perfume from Hermione, which was sent from France it seemed.
Very on theme.

Another present was nearby, not as neatly wrapped but neat enough that she knew it was done by Ginny, opening it she found a fancy new inkwell and quill set, she probably overheard Ophelia moaning about how her inkpot was cracking and she needed a new one.

Smiling to herself, she got out of bed and got dressed, pulling her hair up into a ponytail before heading downstairs to the Great Hall, where she found that her cousins were sat on the Gryffindor table waiting for her beside Harry, Hermione and Ron was hovering nearby.

Plonking herself beside Hermione, she gave her a hug.
"Thank you for the present Hermione."

"It's no problem, after you got me the parchment bag for my homework to keep it in its best condition I owed you one, I saw that in a catalogue mum sent me and had her get it me for you."

"Well thank you for getting me it, you didn't have to."

Vivian scoffed beside her, holding out a present.
"Oh shut up, like we wouldn't get you anything you're mad,"

Ophelia smiled kindly as she took it between her hands, her nimble figures untying the ribbon tied around the box, inside she found a new black hair clip for when she would put her hair half up and half down, it was embellished with black opal, bloodstones and cat's eye and an engraving of a dragon in it.

"Viv this looks so expensive-"

"I thought I told you to shut up about it, nothing is expensive in comparison to you pulling me out of my parent's place, and also, I thought that it looked cool."

"It's definitely better than cool, can you put it in my hair?" Ophelia asked, but Vivian held her hands up.

"Nah man, I'm not touching your hair I'll break it."

"You can't break hair, Viv-"

Eleanor cleared her throat and pointed to her lopsided fringe, "Yes, yes you can. Now here is mine, and for godsake take this present away from me before I steal it, it took everything in me to not rip it open again."

Eleanor thrust a present onto Ophelia's lap, as Harry, Hermione and Ron watched eagerly, all having varying versions of what it could be, Harry assuming jewellery or something fine and expensive, Ron reckoning gold or a gold embued cookbook and Hermione was just hoping it was something they could share, as besties.

Opening it, Ophelia saw the top of it and gasped. "No, you didn't! El?!"

"I said! Open it before I do a runner with it!"

Ophelia grinned, tearing into it, finding a blank embellished book, it was certainly eye-catching, wth another box beside it.

"And these too?? Eleanor... I can't take them!"

"Yes you can, I don't want you to give me them or let me see them again."

Ron groaned, "What is it?"

Ophelia pulled out the embellished leather bound book, and hugged it to her chest.
