Rose's POV:

Scorpius was wrong. It has been three weeks since we told everyone our secret, and James hasn't spoken to any of us. He doesn't even talk to his other friends or hit on girls. I knew that he wasn't going to take Scorpius well, but I didn't know it was going to be this bad.

The only time I see him is in the halls or when I'm in the common room and he comes through the portrait. He doesn't acknowledge anyone, he just walks right up the stairs to his dormitory. I wish he would at least talk to someone so I can figure out why he's acting so badly. But, when James is mad, he's MAD. And you do not want to be the person he is mad at. But, part of me didn't understand why he was acting so badly. It's not like I'm his sister or anything. I can understand if it was Lily, but not me.

Other than James, everyone has accepted Scorpius. He's been sitting with me at the Gryffindor table and we all still talk and laugh like normal, except James. He's been taking his food outside onto the grounds or to his dormitory. Then on the weekends, we all hang out on grounds or in the library. Scorpius's friend Blake has been coming with him lately as well. Savannah has taken an interesting liking to Blake, much to everyone's amusement.

I just wish he would talk to me, or Albus, or anyone. James has always been stubborn, but he usually comes around after about a week. This is the longest grudge he has ever held. That's when you know that he is REALLY mad. Of course he has to be mad at me.

"Rose, are you okay?" asked Scorpius. It was a Saturday and Scorpius and I had decided to go out onto the grounds on our own.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking about James. Do you think he will ever forgive me?"

"He will. You just need to forget him, Rose. He can't stay mad at you forever," said Scorpius, taking my hand. I put my head on his shoulder and sighed.

   "I hope you're right."

-------

I did what Scorpius said and tried to forget about James. But, that was really hard when everyone is talking about him. I had left the common room to go to the library because everyone was talking about him and they were trying to figure out how to get him to talk. Albus had wanted to come with me but I said I needed to be alone for a while.

As I walked to the library, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around to see who it was. It was James.

"Hey, James! Why won't you talk to me? Or anyone?" I said, grabbing his arm as he tried to pass me. He didn't even look at me.

"Leave me alone, Rose," James growled. He yanked his arm free of my grip and stomped down the corridor. I felt tears well up in my eyes, but I blinked them back, determined not to cry over James being stubborn. I had never realized how much I depended on him and needed him.

I walked the rest of the way to the library trying to think about anything but James. When I got to the library, I wasn't surprised to find it empty because it was a Saturday. I said hello to Madamn Pince, but she didn't answer because she has been going deaf in the past couple of years.

I went straight to the far side of the library where my favorite books were. I knew exactly what book I wanted. I shared the love of this book with my mother, who had lost count on how many times she has read it in fourth year. The original Hogwarts: A History has a special spot in our library at home, in a glass case on its own pedistal.

I reached up to grab Hogwarts: A History off the shelf, and as I did, a voice called out behind me.

"Oh, look who it is! It's Weasley! What a... surprise!" I whipped around to find Cara Crabbe and two of her stupid, bratty friends smirking and sneering at me. Three against one. Totally fair.
