Rose's POV:
I walked into the great hall with Albus, James, Hugo, and Danny, smiling to myself.
"What are you so happy about? You were just fighting with Malfoy! Usually after fighting with him you are all scary and touchy," said Hugo.
"It's none of your business is it? I didn't think so," I snapped back. Hugo cringed away from me.
"Is this about that deeply private and embarrassing conversation we had about that special someone?" asked James, laying it on thick. I punched him as hard as I could in the arm. I was satisfied by his high-pitched squeal of pain and surprise.
I skipped the rest of the way to the gryffindor table and sat down beside my cousin, Lily.
"What are you so smiley about?" she asked. Why can't I be happy without everybody questioning it? Am I really acting that much different from normal?
"No reason," I sighed.
"Ok... You know now I won't stop pestering you about it right? I will figure out what this is about," Lily said determined. I laughed.
"You are so like James."
"I am not! That is the worst thing you could ever say to me!"
"Whatever, Lily," I said and rolled my eyes. The boys made it to the table and sat down. James across from me, Albus beside me, Danny beside James, and Hugo beside Lily. Some of our other friends came and sat beside us. My best friend,(besides Albus and my other cousins)
Kacey Creevey, came and sat down beside James. Kacey has medium length brown hair, crystal blue eyes, and a perfect smile. We met in first year when she was sorted into gryffindor, like me, and we share a dorm together. She is hilarious and super smart and is very happy all the time. I very rarely see her without a smile.
The funny part is that James has a huge crush on her. He has since his third year when she came to our Weasley Family Christmas. He always blushes and gets really nervous around her. If you knew James, you would know that that is the total opposite of what he usually is like around girls. He is usually very flirty and smooth and seems to always know the right thing to say to make a girl fall for him. But not around Kacey.
"How we're your summer holidays, Rose?" asked Kacey.
"Very good! Yours?"
"They were good. Well, besides Colin always taking pictures of everything." Colin is Kacey's younger brother who is in Hugo and Lily's year. He was named after his uncle that had died in the battle of Hogwarts and everyone says Colin acts just like him.
While I waited for the sorting to start, I let my eyes wander around the great hall. I see my friends from Ravenclaw, Lorcan and Lysander Scamander, who are twins. Their mother is Luna Lovegood Scamander. She was one of the people who went to the Department of Mysteries with my parents, Uncle Harry, Aunt Ginny, and Professor Longbottom in their 5th year. They tell us their stories from when they went to Hogwarts all the time. My favorite is when my mum and Uncle Harry used my mum's time turner and went back in time to save Uncle Harry's godfather, Sirius, and Hagrid's pet hippogriff, Buckbeak.
When my eyes landed on the Slytherin table, I spotted Scorpius immediantly. He was sitting with his friend, Blake Goyle. Usually when I see him he has his famous sneer on his face, but he didn't now. He was wearing a true smile. He looked genuinely happy. I wonder why? Was it because I was friends with him? Was that why I was so happy now?***********************************************
