Scorpius' POV:
Eventually I found myself walking to the dungeons, towards the Slytherin Common Room. I felt like I was walking on clouds. All I could think about was Rose hugging me. It was the best feeling in the world. She was warm and smelled of... well, roses. It was magical.I wonder if it had meant anything to Rose? No. It was just out of kindness. Wasn't it? There was something in her eyes that was different. They were brighter than usual. Was it even possible for Rose's beautiful brown eyes to get any brighter? I guess so.
I was still thinking about Rose's eyes when I ran into something. Not something, someone. It was Blake.
"Scorpius, where have you been? You've been gone for over an hour!" said Blake while rubbing his shoulder where I had run into it.
"Oh...um... Sorry, Blake. Was I really gone for over an hour?" I stuttered. How could I have gone for over an hour? I was just talking to Rose! I wonder how long I had stood there after she hugged me...
"Yes, an hour!" Then his anger melted away. He grinned. "Who was it? Was it Rose?" I sighed.
"Yes. It was Rose. I didn't think we talked that long. We were just saying goodnight."
"Did that include some snogging as well?" Blake snickered. Then he yelped because I punched him as hard as I could in the shoulder I had just run into.
"No," I said, gritting my teeth. "We were just talking and saying goodnight. Then... She... She hugged me," I said quietly. Blake's grin got even wider while my face got redder.
"She hugged you? She totally likes you, mate!"
"No it's not like that. It was a friendly hug that you give to friends." Blake just rolled his eyes.
"Okay, whatever, Scorp. We should go in unless we want to be caught out after curfew," Blake said. I nodded and followed him in the common room. The common room was crowded, even though it was after curfew. Everyone was to excited to see their friends and share what they did over the summer to go to sleep. I was planning to go straight to my dorm, but before I could, I was attacked in a hug. My mouth was full of curly, dark brown hair that smelled strongly of vanilla perfume. Cara. She pulled out of the hug, but only enough to look into my eyes. Her eyes were coffee brown, and cold. She makes me sick.
"Scorp, where have you been?" She said pretending to be concerned.
"Only my friends can call me Scorp," I said pushing her away.
"What? I am your friend, Scorp. Why wouldn't I be your friend?" She asked innocently. Like she doesn't know.
"Oh I don't know... Maybe because you are mean and cruel. Maybe we used to be friends, but not now. If your heart was as pretty as your face, I might actually like you," I said. It was then that I realized that the whole Slytherin Common Room was staring at us. Fantastic. I looked at Cara, who had a look of complete shock on her face. It was hilarious, but if I laughed it would be rude. I would've felt bad about it if she didn't completely deserve it.
"Scorp... You don't really mean that... Do you?" She stuttered. I still wanted to laugh. How could people even feel bad for someone like her? Everyone in the common room was waiting for my answer. I usually get nervous when I have an audience, but, strangely, I wasn't nervous at all.
"Yes, Cara. I do mean it. You are cruel and heartless. You don't care about anyone else's feelings. When you make someone cry you laugh in their faces. What good does that do? NOTHING! It just makes them feel bad about themselves. I know why you do that though. To make yourself feel good. I don't know how that could possibly make you feel good because that would make me feel terrible. I suggest you start considering other people's feelings and stop thinking about yourself." When I was finished, no one said a word. Everyone was staring at the two of us. Cara had a look of complete shock on her face.
"Oh, and one more thing. You were a terrible girlfriend." With that I stormed upstairs to my dormitory and slammed the door shut. It felt so good to get that off my chest that I started laughing. I laughed so hard I cried.
Then I thought of Rose. Would she have done something like that? What I said was pretty mean but it needed to be said. Cara deserved it. She had been bullying people since first year. She needed to be stopped. But there was a question that always crossed my mind when I was around her. How did I get sorted into a house with people like that in it? Was I like that?
I changed into my pajamas and slipped under the covers. I didn't realize how tired I was until my head hit the pillows. I soon fell asleep thinking about how lucky I was to have Rose as a friend and not someone like Cara.

It is when you have a day off from school and you are procrastinating on homework. Also, if you haven't noticed, I'm working on a cast for this story. I know Rose's is just Sofia but I couldn't find her last name. She is just a model I found that looks exactly like I imagined Rose to look like. I will try to upload a picture soon :)
And if you guys want you can comment people that you would think would make a good James, Albus, Hugo, or Lily and I could look them up and decide who which character should be. Winners will be given a shoutout in future chapters :)
