Chapter 46

Alexis POV

I woke up to Lani crying. She's spoiled at this point, as I picked her up she stopped.

"All you want is for me to hold you huh." I smiled at her. She was smelly so I changed her. "Is that why you were crying baby?" She tried to move towards my chest. I wish they told me how breastfeeding feels, it hurts in the weirdest of ways. While I'm feeding Lani, I heard something outside. I tried to make my way to the window without being seen but I couldn't. The door opened and I turned around to see Mason and my brother. I was shook, last time I saw him I was with Logan.

"Mason." I said to myself sitting down with Lani.

"Come on bro." Xander said walking him to the room. He got him settled in bed and came to me.

"Yes." I said as he took Lani and burped her.

"He's okay but he's gonna have to learn how to do certain things, ya know his motor skills. He's gonna help you too, cause I know you cant move to much so that'll be good for him get him back into the swing of things."

"Okay." I said as Lani began to cry. "Give me my baby." I said as he calmed her down.

"I got this." He said. I sighed as Mason called Xander.  "Sup."

" Nevermind." He said as I felt bad. I can't be here with him alone. What if he doesn't want to talk or see me, this is my fault.

"Alexis." Xander said breaking my thought pattern. I looked up at him." He doesn't hate you."

"Are you sure?" I asked as Lani smiled.

"I'm sure." He said as I sighed again.

"Yooo." Mason said.

"I got Lani, go ahead." Xander said as I walked to him. Making my way to the door I stopped, my heart skipped a beat as I saw him sitting near the window.

"Mason." I said softly.

"Alexis." He responded.

"Hi, I think I remember you, we were friends right?" He asked. He doesn't remember.

"You don't remember me?" I asked.

"I think I do, it's still a little fuzzy." He said.

"Oh, okay." I sighed trying to hold my tears back.

"Who's baby is that?" He asked.

"It's my baby." I replied.

"You don't have kids you're only 18." He laughed. I just laughed with him.

"Yea I don't." He really has no recent memories. This is going to be hard. I walked to Xander. "Is he gonna be like this forever?"

"He's gonna be like this for a while." He said laying Lani down. "I gotta go so don't do anything stupid I'll be back later."

"Okay." I sighed sitting on the couch.

"See ya later." He said leaving. I sat alone thinking does Mason really not remember me. He loved me, he literally would do anything for me. Maybe him not remembering is for the best, we really don't need to be together again.

"Hey." He said breaking my thoughts.

"Hey, you ok?" I said going to him.

"I'm good I guess." He shrugged.

"Do you need me to do anything for you?" I asked as he smiled. "Why are you smiling?"

"Oh God that is the nicest you've ever been to me Princess." He laughed. "I really had you fooled."

"Are you serious!" I said aggressively.

"Isn't your baby asleep?" He smiled.

"My baby's name is Lani."

"Oh my bad, isn't Lani asleep?" He said as I walked to her. She was still soundly asleep.

"She's fine." I sighed sitting in the living room.

"Awe come on, I remember everything." He said coming into the living room.

"When you say everything do you mean-

"Yes everything." He sighed. I don't know what to say or do. "I haven't told your father anything."

"Thank you." I replied. He could have told him and had me torn to shreds, but he didn't.

"No problem." We were silent. I didn't know what to say or do. The thought of me seeing him again never occurred to me. Well so did my husband turning on me as well but this is my life, happy endings are for real princesses. A tear shed as I was thinking. "Hey you ok?"

"Yea, I'm ugh I'm good." I sniffled smiling.

"You don't have to lie to me princess."

"You guys call me princess because of papa but wildly enough I feel like the furthest thing from one." I laughed.

"Alexis." He sighed. I laid on him, oh how this feeling was missed, just being vulnerable and loved genuinely.

"Yea." I said looking up at him.

"You know this can't happen right?" He said looking at me. I immediately got up with nothing to say. What was I thinking anyway, I know he wasn't going to just let me back in that  quickly.
