THOR WAS BANISHED. Due to his arrogance, the would-be king had been cast out of his home until he learned his lesson.
That is if he learned his lesson.
Kajsa sat beside Sif on the couch of the healing room. She stared quietly at the flames of the fire pit. With them were Loki and the Warriors Three.
Loki was standing with his back turned. Volstagg in a chair adjacent to the couch, and Fandral was on the floor, getting patched up by Hogun.
They were pretty battered about what happened and even more upset about Thor's banishment.
As arrogant and immature as he was - banishment seemed to be such a harsh punishment.
Kajsa and Loki were the only two who couldn't quite be bothered with what happened to Thor, however.
Their minds were still reeling about what happened with Loki and the frost giant.
"We should have never let him go," Volstagg's words brought Kajsa out of her thoughts.
"There was no stopping him," Sif knew all too well.
They all did.
"At least he's only banished, not dead," said Fandral. "Which is what we'd all be if that guard hadn't told Odin where we'd gone."
Hogun went to Volstagg next, putting cream on his frostbitten arm.
The burly god winced. "How did the guard even know?"
"I told him," Loki confessed.
All eyes went to him.
"You did what?" Kajsa was more surprised that he hadn't told her.
"I told him to go to Odin after we'd left. Though he should be flogged for taking so long. We should have never made it to Jotunheim."
"You told the guard?" Volstagg roared accusingly.
"I saved our lives!" Loki calmly fidgeted with his hand. "And Thor's. I had no idea Father would banish him for what he did."
A desperate Sif stood, "Loki, you're the only one who can help Thor now. You must go to the Allfather and convince him to change his mind!"
"And if I do, then what?" questioned Loki. "I love Thor more dearly than any of you, but you know what he is. He's arrogant. He's reckless. He's dangerous. You saw how he was today. Is that what Asgard needs from its king?"
Upset, Loki storms out.
"He may speak about the good of Asgard, but he's always been jealous of Thor," said Sif the moment he was gone.
"Have care how you speak," Kajsa stood in his defense. "Say what you will, but Loki saved us, and he is right."
Sif rolled her eyes, scoffing in disgust. "You are blinded by love."
"And you aren't?" Kajsa challenged her. "I get it," she looked at the group. "Like everyone, you don't believe Loki is fit to rule. Fine," she shrugged. "But let's make it clear, Thor isn't any more ready. If he were, he'd be here. Your favorite -"
Kajsa looked at Fandral, "almost let you die out there and for what? Bloodshed? Vengeance? Maybe banishment is what Thor needs, so he'll be fit to be the king you so desire. Until he's back, why don't you thank Loki for saving your damned lives."
Kajsa stormed out of the room. She leaned her back against the wall outside the door, calming herself down.
It frustrated her when people talked about Loki when they didn't know him as she did. As mischievous as he was - he was sweet, kind, and gentle.
