The past
"Come, my child," Queen Frigga unmounted a young Kajsa from her house, the two having just crossed the rainbow bridge to Heimdall.
Heimdall stood guard with Hofund in his grasp and his usual scowl turning to a smile at the sight of his daughter.
"Come on," Frigga sweetly held a pouting Kajsa by her hand as they approached the gatekeeper.
"Morning, my Queen," Heimdall moved to bow.
"No need for formalities, Heimdall," Frigga stopped him. "We just came to see you before Kajsa goes off to school."
Kajsa was in such a sour mood that she didn't look at her father. Instead, she hid behind Frigga's dress.
"Is something the matter?" Heimdall knelt to her height.
"I don't want . . ." her words became muffled by how soft she spoke.
"Speak up," Heimdall told her sternly.
Frigga softly nudged her aside, so she could stand tall.
Kajsa sighed heavily, "I don't want to go school to school, father."
"And why not?"
"The other kids," she hung her head low. "They make fun of me, and my hair, and my ears."
"Oh, sweetheart," Heimdall lifted her chin. "You mustn't listen to them."
"I know, father . . . but it still hurts my feelings."
"Your father is right," Frigga knelt with Heimdall. "What other people think of you shouldn't matter. What matters is what you think of yourself."
"I just want to be normal," Kajsa's eyes began to water.
"And what exactly would that be?" her father asked her.
"What do you mean?" she didn't understand.
"Well, what is normal?"
"Changing my hair, of course," she touched the end of the white strands. "And my ears," she felt the tip of the pointy cartilage that she often hid with her hair. "I just want to look more Asgardian."
"I can assure you that your looks do not determine how Asgardian you are, child," Frigga told her. "You are a beautiful girl and should be proud to be both Asgardian and light elf."
"Queen Frigga is right," Heimdall caressed her cheek. "You are perfect just the way you are. You understand?"
"Yes, father," she nodded though the sadness in her eyes was still evident.
"You look just like your mother," Heimdall smiled sadly.
"I miss her," Kajsa swiped a tear that fell.
"I know," Heimdall kisses her on the forehead. "Try to have a good day, okay?"
Kajsa nodded, taking Frigga's hand as she stood.
"Thank you for bringing her my Queen," Heimdall bowed.
"Any time," Frigga smiled.
With a troubled countenance on his face, Heimdall watched Frigga guide her away.

Kasja did her best in taking her father's advice but always ended up isolating herself at school. She preferred being alone to trying with the other kids, afraid to be rejected or made fun of. She found that keeping to herself kept her bullies away - well, most of the time.
