The next morning Y/N was quite nervous, she had been in this place for so so long and wasn't sure how much the outside world would have been changed.

But, a spark of excitement grew inside of her, she'd finally get out. Honestly she couldn't wait to tell Ryuk, if he'd just be here.

She really missed him.

The time had never passed so slow, Y/N just stared at the clock, seconds ticking by. Finally, she heard footsteps!

She kept staring at the clock in excitement, she wouldn't show any reaction. She knew that this would give a lot of information away about her.

"Y/N! Sir Watari is here for you!"

You slowly stood up and turned around as the guard unlocked your door. There he was, Your ticket out of here. You just needed to walk out and follow the tall man.

As you passed the receptionist you gave her a last deadly stare as you walked out the front door.

Bright sunlight flashed in your eyes, loud sounds surrounded you as you just stood there staring in front of you. Your sight started spinning as you saw all the movement of the outside world.

Colorful cars where driving on the road ahead, there were people walking by, whispering and pointing to you but you couldn't even find the concentration for that.

You saw a woman with a big pink hat with feathers sticking out of it, a long pink feat and fitting pink heels. In amazement you stared at her walk past. She gave you a nasty glare.

Watari had been waiting for you to get used to your surroundings for a little bit until he asked you:

"Are you okay?"

The sun felt nice on your skin.

"Hm"

You started moving your legs again as you stepped the concrete and walked over to Watari as he opened the door of a long black car.

You had not seen a car in years and it seemed quite futuristic.

You stepped inside and almost tripped, but you landed neatly on the backseat of the car.

Watari closed the door behind you and walked to the other side of the car where sat himself in the driver's seat.

He looked at you for a moment in the mirror and then started the motor, making you flinch for a moment, not used to the loud sound. The car started moving and drove away.

The seats of the car where covered in leather and it smelled really fresh, you could somewhat smell something sweet trough the freshness of the car.

After a while you started to relax a little more as you got used to the movement of the car. While looking out of the window everything flashed by, there where so many tall buildings, so many colors and sounds.

You just gazed out of the window in amazement for the next 35 minutes.

Watari checked up on you sometimes trough the small mirror at the front of the car, making him smile slightly sometimes.

The car started to slow down and eventually stopped in front of a big, tall building with lots of glass. Weirdly is wasn't see trough as you where used to.

"We've arrived." Watari announced.

No response.

You glanced at Watari as nerves started to rush trough your body. Watari opened his door and stepped out of the car.

You tried opening the door just as he did, pushing you hands onto the door and the handle, without success. It started to make you panic slightly as you started to feel trapped.

Watari walked over to your side of the car and opened your door for you. You got out, nodded at the man thankfully and walked over the concrete road onto the sidewalk and straight to the big glass doors in front of you.

The thought of running away crossed your mind but that would not end in a success, you were in no state to run fast and long for now. But you'd get out of here.

You knew you would.

Watari opened the doors and you both walked inside, the building smelled like it was freshly cleaned.

There where big stairs right in front of you, Watari started to walk them so you just followed.

It was oddly quiet in the building, it was nice.

Reaching the top of the stairs you had already started breathing heavily. You condition was horrible from being locked up.

Watari opened another door and you walked in together.

There was a man standing in front of a big glass window with his back turned to you. You held your breath just looking at him.

He slowly turned around and you looked right into his grey eyes, he looked drained. His eye bags where just as dark as yours. His skin so pale, almost like snow, his raven black hair made him even paler than he already was.

He shuffled his bare feet and mumbled:

"I am L"

His voice was deep, it reminded you of the purr of a cat.

I guess this was L.

"My real name is Ryuzaki." He continued.

You glanced at him in silence and disbelief, was he testing you? You had to hold in a giggle, so naive.

You could not show any reaction or he had more information about you. So you just responded blankly.

"Neera, nice to meet you"

It was the name of the only friend you could remember, but she was not in this world anymore. She was in a better place looking over you.

But how you could still remember the dark round eyes and the soft black fur of her, as she was purring under your touch.

You snapped out of the memory and you slowly walked towards the odd man and whispered:

"I think Lawliet is a really pretty name."

His eyes widened as soon as you said his name.

His identity that he had successfully kept a secret for all this time, was now open in the air. He could not let this get any further.

Quickly L grabbed you arm, making you flinch and staring to fight back. Watari threw something that rattled trough the air, L swiftly catching it.

L's grip was strong, stronger than you where expecting and you where struggling to get yourself free, it all happened so fast. You felt something cold against your wrist, you froze.

*click*

You stood there staring at the cuff around your wrist, while L quickly put the other cuff on his own wrist making another clicking sound.

You slowly looked up right into the eyes of the detective, they were a bit widened. Rage went trough your head while adrenaline shot trough your body.

How dared he.

No time to think.

You went for a punch right to his left eye but he swiftly blocked it with his arm. He threw his foot in the air almost hitting you it the face, but you could escape the kick.

The sounds of the rattling chains and movement filled the room.

You went for another punch and hit him right on the cheek blowing the air out of his lungs and lounging his head back, gasping for air, but he quickly recovered from the punch and your reaction was too slow to the foot racing trough the air hitting you right on the side of you jaw.

Pain shot trough your face as your sight went blurry, losing your balance and falling to the cold floor. Your head hit the floor hard as your whole vision went black.
