Time went by slowly, getting uncomfortably closer and closer to the meeting with the ICPO.

You started to feel somehow anxious, playing with the ring around your finger while breathing unsteady. You weren't sure why you felt this way, but something about this case felt like it was going to be a lot harder that you expected.

"Why are you nervous?" Curious eyes looked right into yours as L tilted his head slightly.

"I'm not sure, I think I am underestimating this case. I feel like it's going to be a lot harder that I expected even though we just started." You answered honestly.

"Well, I feel the same. I have been thinking and I'm sure we will need the full cooperation of then ICPO for this case. It won't be as easy as the past cases we've dealt with together, that is for sure." L mumbled while taking a bite of his delicious smelling strawberry cake.

The meeting soon began, there was a lot of talking, even yelling sometimes. L shared his plan with this team of policemen, he had a lot of explaining to do as the men were quite critical about everything.

When the meeting finally ended your body felt numb while your mind was racing with thoughts. Your fingers started tingling as L sighted relieved.

"I need a moment." You spoke as you stood up.

As soon as the door closed behind you you felt the blood coming back to your veins, you could almost hear your heart pumping the blood.

After a few minutes of calming down boredom got to you as it had done many times. The nightstand seemed interesting enough with it drawers although you went trough them several times.

The screeching sound of the un-oiled drawer made your spine shiver, nothing had changed.

Next was the closet, as soon as you opened it's doors a pair of familiar eyes looked back at you. Your heart dropped as the one standing in front to you copied your exact movements.

Your nostrils widening as you took a breath, the blinking that happened once every few seconds.

A knock on the door made you look away for a short moment.

"Yes?"

"Are you alright?" L questioned you as he opened the door softly.

"You put a mirror in here. Why?" Your voice trembling from the anxiety you experienced.

"Well you've been here for a while now, I thought you might need it." He tilted his as he had done quite a few times before.

Why, why a mirror. You had only seen yourself trough reflections of glass and water in the past few years. This was an unexpected surprise, that was for sure.

"I appreciate it. Thank you." The corners of your mouth curled up mildly.

"That's okay, anyway I had something to discuss with you." L's voice changed in a way that was barely unnoticeable.

"Sure, tell me."

"So, I've figured that we'll never be able to close this case with the full police team. It's good for now but Kira is going to set us up against each other as soon as he gets the chance to do so." L ranted.

"We're calling him Kira now?" You asked.

The sight of a man with wings standing above a dead body flashed before your eyes. He almost looked like a god, beautiful in a way.

You squeezed you eyelids against each other to push away the sight. He was no god, he was a miserable god wanna be.

"I understand." You said quickly as the pause between yours and L's words got too long.
