Medical Talk
" Dr. Marshall, I honestly don't know how to tell you this " Dr. Marcos shamefully said, looking at the papers in his hands with disappointment.
He shook his head, reading the reports for a millionth time.
" tell me, you're talking to a doctor it's nothing I won't understand " Mrs. Marshall replied, as she felt more confident.
She wasn't crying anymore. She wiped her tears and put on that strong face she puts on every time she steps inside the hospital.
She was ready to have a medical talk with her co-worker, and she wasn't going to get affected with whatever Dr. Marcos was going to say.
She was going to fix whatever is wrong with her daughter. If it can be fixed by a doctor anyway.
" you're daughter.. " Dr. Marcos started, carefully choosing his next words. He only continued when he received a nod from Bella's mother. " she has amnesia " He sighed.
" amnesia? " she questioned, sounding like a person who never heard of amnesia before.
" the accident wasn't easy, she barely got out alive, it was a hard accident. I'm not the one to explain her condition to you, I'm sure you're aware of everything about amnesia. I'm just going to give you her file and you can read it " Dr. Marcos explained. He was desperate to ask her mom about the accident but thought it's not the right time.
He didn't understand a lot of things about the accident. But chose to leave that for another time. At least until Bella's memory returns.
" did you do a test? " Bella's mom asked the doctor. Although she knows he won't diagnose her with amnesia without a test.
" yes. She panicked when she first woke up. She didn't remember she had an accident and she asked about her father " Dr. Marcos informed Bella's mom with the things that her daughter said. They were enough to tell Bella can't remember some things.
" and.. ? " Mrs. Marshall breathed, waiting for more information.
" she can't remember the last three years of her life " Dr. Marcos responded.
Bella's mom nodded, understanding her daughter's condition. For a doctor, it was something she experienced at least twice a month, but for a mom, it was terrifying.
Especially when the last three years were life changing for her daughter.
" I think you know what to do, as a mother and as doctor " Dr. Marcos told her, before taping her shoulders and walking away.
Bella's mom wasn't lost. She knew exactly what to do. Which was to leave things for its course.
She can't bring her daughter's memory back, but she can let her discover herself and what she had lost in that accident.
Bella's mom walked back to her daughter's room. Confused about the fact that the four teenagers weren't where she left them.
She grabbed the door's handle and pushed the door open. Eager to see her daughter again.
Her only concerns were that her daughter might die, or go in a coma, in worst case scenario, she'd be paralyzed. But amnesia was nothing near her concerns. Nothing her daughter can't take, or anyone for that matter.
Her mom was thinking in a medical way.
When she entered the room, everyone was staring confusingly at her daughter. Bella was confused. She didn't like the fact that there were three guys she didn't recognize staring at her like this.
