Best Friends Change

In the middle of what seemed to be a mess, Calum thought about clearing things up.

Only to mess everything up even more.

Calum wanted to have some time with Bella like they used to. Some time to remind her of how close they were and how their friendship was like.

It was the hardest for him if you think about it. Because Calum was not in the middle of the mess and the hate, Calum was just her best friend. He lost a precious friend and it was hard for him to take it.

On their weekend, Calum called Bella and told her that they'll have a BelCal day just like they used to. So, excitedly, Bella got ready and waited for Calum to come and pick her up.

" are we going anywhere specific? " Bella happily asked. Her blue eyes were focused on the streets they were passing by, it seemed like she haven't came to this part of town since she came out of the hospital at all.

The part where the best diners and music shops in this town take place, where neon signed stores and arcades are the places that give this place a spice. Only teenagers like Bella and Calum where hanging out here.

But Bella couldn't help but think that she's nothing near them. They must be happy making memories and enjoying their time, while Bella had a mental fight with herself every time she remembered something.

Not to mention, their friend group was nothing near those teenagers, they seemed like best friends. Bella's friend's hated each other, if you think about it..

" so Calum, " Bella started, after finishing the miserable thoughts about her friends. " tell me about us, our friends, you know " She shrugged, waving her hand in the air.

" what do you want to know? " Calum smiled, his chocolate brown eyes glancing at her each second.

" anything about us " Bella shrugged again. There had to be an us. They had to be friends in the past, they can't just hate each other and call themselves friends right?

" um, me and you were very close actually, " Calum started, the sadness in his voice was clear. " we were almost going to tattoo our initials on each other " he added, a chuckle escaping his mouth.

" we didn't?! " Bella gasped.

" um.. no " he added, chuckling again when he remembered that Ashton wasn't going to let that happen.

" okay and our other friends? " Bella asked, fighting the urge to scrunch her face at the word that described them, friends. " how did we meet by the way? "

" oh how did we meet, I think I like this story " Calum nodded. There wasn't a specific story on how they met - not like Luke and Bella - they just.. met.

" so you and Ashton were best friends but me and Kate were new to the school,  I shared a chemistry class with you and we shared another one with Kate, each day we became closer to each other, we started waiting for each other by Kate's locker, then we started meeting during the school day to tell each other about something interesting that happened to us.. " Calum began.

So far, so boring.

" and at some point you introduced us to Ashton, who we thought was your boyfriend at first, and we became best friends immediately " he continued.

Bella was listening carefully, and nodding each minute to tell Calum that he can continue.
