" okay bestie, so remember when we planned our besties only night the other day? " Ashton bite his bottom lip, as he waited for his best friend to say something through the phone.

" yeah? "

" yeah, we're waiting for you " Ashton sheepishly smiled, even though Bella can't see him.

" we? "

" um.. " Ashton nervously chuckled, his hazel eyes traveling to the four teenagers who were surrounding him. " yeah, me, Cal, Michael, Luke and Kate "

" I thought it'll be just me and you " Bella told him from the other end of the phone, as she grabbed the things she needed and carelessly threw them inside her bag.

" it'll be fun, trust me " Ashton said, thinking that he did his best friends a favor by inviting them all to his and Bella's besties night. " okay bye "

Ashton was always the one to pull everyone back together. He was trying so hard to keep this friend group together by doing many different things that - in his eyes - seemed to be right.

Like inviting them all to hangout with him and Bella because the last time they all hung out was at his house and things got messed up. Now Bella knows most of the truth, so it won't be as awkward.

He thought wrong though, of course it'll be awkward.

As they all waited for Bella to arrive and tried to distract themselves instead of talking, Calum decided to help Ashton out with this night, and also fix something that happened on Friday night.

" hey Kate " Calum smiled, shoving his hands in his pockets and waiting for Kate to look at him.

She locked her phone and put it in her back pocket then left her green eyes to look at Calum. She suddenly found herself smiling for no reason.

If it was a few months ago, Kate would have rolled her eyes at Calum and mumbled something like pathetic, or maybe ignored him and told him to get a life.

But if it was a year or more ago, she would have thrown a joke out of nowhere, then wrapped an arm around his shoulder and said something like hey bestie.

Things change a lot. Especially for Calum and Kate, things changed a lot in the last three years.

Calum and Kate met in year 10, when they met Bella. They immediately became best friends and have grown to be very close to each other.

When Kate developed a crush on Luke, she changed completely. Calum started to see Kate in a different way too, in a more than friends way, and that caused their friendship to go down and change.

Calum missed the old Kate, the one he likes. While Kate started to hate Calum's guts because he's simply pathetic.

" hey Cal " Kate smiled softly.

Right now, thing are a little normal between the two brunettes. Kate stopped hating Calum for no reason and their friendship is alright.

Except for what Calum did on Friday night that might've changed things a little and made them awkward.

" um.. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about Friday night " Calum started, a heavy breath leaving his chest. " about the kiss "

The kiss. When Calum got way too drunk, and Kate was acting a little too friendly with him, he decided to kiss her. Only for her to push him away and leave the party.

Kate was simply like that, unexpected and reckless to the point she can ruin things. If something bothers her - like what Michael told her on Friday night or when she saw Bella at Luke's house - then she'll get drunk and do unexpected things.
