Lee Chaeyeon's POV
It's been a couple of days since they announced the ranking this semester.
I ranked first again.
But it doesn't even excite me anymore.
It's just the same old shit.
I stopped on my thoughts when I felt my phone vibrate.
I was still in class— History, to be exact.
Our History Teacher is still discussing something about World War II when I raised my hand.
"Ms. Lee, Do you have a question?" Mr. Shim asked while looking at me, everyone in our class turned their head and looked at me.
awkward phew.
"No, Sir but I just wanted to ask for permission if I could go out because I need to go to the bathroom," I explained.
God, this is beyond embarrassing.
"Sure thing, Ms. Lee." Mr. Shim smiled and continued his lecture.
I took it as a cue for me to finally go out and answer my goddamn phone.
"Yes, Dad?" I answered my phone trying my very best to not sound annoyed.
"You're gonna fight in the Arena later with Eyes' leader. You better win this time Lee Chaeyeon. You know I don't tolerate losers." My Dad said in a stern yet emotionless voice.
Another fight?
I just hang up the phone without replying.
I never wanted to be part of this.
I just wanted a peaceful and normal life.
Eyes' leader
I'm fighting her again.
Ever since we were young, we always fought each other but I've never won against her— not even once.
And my father's ego must be really bruised right now.
I just pushed my thoughts away and managed to walk back to class.
I opened the door and everyone looked at me. I just quietly sat on my chair and pretended to listen.
Time flew and the next thing I knew, the bell is already ringing.
One by one, my classmates left. I took my things and walked out the door only to see a big puppy smiling at me.
"Chaeyeon Unnie!!!!" The big puppy ran towards me and hugged me.
I chuckled.
"Yah. Yujin-ah, you're so heavy. Get off me." I said while laughing.
Ahn Yujin. One of my closest friends. She's younger than me but we get along pretty well. She's in her first year while I'm on my second.
"Oops sorry, Unnie. Let's gooooo, I'm hungry." Yujin said while pouting and caressing her stomach.
"Alright... let's go." I let her drag me into the cafeteria.
We got our food and we started eating.
"Unnie... Dad texted me about the fight later. He told me that i should be there. I heard you're fighting her again" Yujin said while staring at her food.
