Yabuki Nako's POV.
"Hey, my lovely friends, what's the plan for tomorrow?" Out of nowhere, someone asked.
We were currently hanging around the school's snack bar trying to kill time— and getting food while we're at it— since it's our free time. We've been sitting here for fifteen minutes and Yujin, Yena Unnie, and Wonyoung just arrived with Yujin asking.
Two days had passed since Yuri's committee hearing. The school turned upside down with the investigators from the Office of Educations who came here every day. The teachers couldn't even hold a proper class for days because everyone was busy getting interrogated. The students should be worried right now but that's not our concern. It's free time and it's what students have dreamt of having. It will most likely go back to normal soon so we're making the most out of it.
Mr. Kim, our principal, is nowhere to be seen. Rumor has it that he's been hiding in his house for personal reasons. Some say he was hospitalized. But we personally think that he's just hiding from the media after being proven of committing several crimes. Our school is well-known, it's a natural thing to see people from different media outlets lurking around school looking for interesting scoops to publish in pages.
This is the dark truth about popularity. Once you possess it, you can't mess up. Those who are popular are supposed to be perfect. You can't make mistakes, you're not allowed to make one. You can get criticized for the littlest things. What a harsh society we live in.
My trains of thought were stopped when I heard my friends laughing. Oh, right, I'm still with my friends. We were huddled up in one table that is actually two tables that we just put together to fit 12 people.
"For the location, my family owns a private farm in Busan?" Hyewon Unnie suggests. It gave everyone a ray of hope.
Maybe planning a trip is easier than I thought.
No one was surprised, We were all well aware she's rich. They have hotel chains for christ's sake and Hyewon Unnie, that bitch, buys designer shirts every day.
"Will your parents allow us there?" Yena Unnie asked, looking at Hyewon whose face is unreadable. She stopped for a while to think.
"That... I'm not sure. I'll have to ask my parents first." Hyewon Unnie scratched her head, her eyes were saying sorry.
In an instant, the hope I was talking about was gone with the wind— or shall I say the air conditioning in this place.
No, but no jokes, this place is deadass cold.
"We need a backup place in case we're not allowed in Hyewon Unnie's private farm," Wonyoung states the obvious, playing with her little notebook.
She was writing our plan in her notebook.
Here's the thing, there are certain times where Wonyoung seems like she's older than all of us. We won't deny that Wonyoung can totally outsmart every single person at this table. Hitomi and Hyewon Unnie would be worthy opponents but I bet the big baby can still outsmart both of them.
She's one heck of a gifted child. She has a really bright future ahead of her. I know someday, our baby will be great. She'll surely create something that could live forever. That's the goal—our goal— to create something that would live forever.
"Minju, don't you have a beach house in Busan?" Minju looked at Chaewon Unnie, a bit dazed and... surprised?
She was stuck in her own world when suddenly, Chaewon Unnie asks her about the beach house that we know nothing about.
