Third's Person POV.
Nako woke up without Hitomi in their room. Yujin was still in her deep slumber because some of the girls played XBOX until the morning. Turns out, Sakura brought her XBOX and the girls almost praised her for that. Yujin, Sakura, Hyewon, Yena, Yuri, and Wonyoung played XBOX until dawn broke, the main reason why Hyewon, Yena, Yujin, and Wonyoung are still asleep.
Eunbi slept early that night, she didn't want to join the other girl's game night simply because she's not fond of those things— she doesn't know how those things work and she's aware that Yena and Yujin will be teasing the hell out of her and call her a boomer.
Nako slept earlier than the other girls since she didn't get sleep because she had to take extra shifts in the convenience store so she could take a few days off, solely because of the trip.
Chaeyeon, the girl didn't want to join the game night too just like Eunbi but their reasons were different. Chaeyeon never got the chance to enjoy life, thanks to her good-for-nothing father, she felt like she is not deserving of having fun. Even this, she feels like she's not allowed to have fun.
Minju slept after her balcony incident with Chaewon, while Chaewon spent all night thinking about the girl who was sleeping peacefully on the bed of their shared room.
This was Minju's room, Chaewon thought to herself. When everything was still fine, Minju used this room most often and whenever they'd go there, they'll sleep in Minju's room and talk all night.
Good old days, Chaewon's mind is the loudest right now. It had always been loud. Funny, No matter how silent Chaewon is, her head never was. It had always been full of questions, worries, and anger. Honestly, Chaewon does not know anymore. She had always been lost, as lost as she is now. Staring at the younger, her heart aches.
"How did we end up like this, huh?" Chaewon whispers to herself. She wanted to tell Minju that, she wanted to talk to the younger girl and beg her but she knew Minju well. She knows that the girl is still hurting.
Minju is still hurting but...
"What a—about m–me?" Chaewon's voice cracks. What about her... does she really have to hurt like this? It feels unfair and she just wants to get mad at the world.
And that night, Chaewon stayed up on their balcony, drowning in her thoughts and she never asked for help.
Nako, after taking a nice stretch, the girl went to the bathroom to wash her face and freshen up. Once Nako went out of the room she saw Eunbi, Sakura, and Yuri eating breakfast on the table. Chaeyeon and Minju sitting on the couch.
"Where's Hii?" Nako says as she gently closed the door of their room to avoid waking Yujin up, "Wow, Good Morning Nako." Yuri greets sarcastically.
The rest greets Nako normally. Yuri is always extra, Yuri always loved impromptu skits. Maybe... acting suits Yuri because she had always been a great actress. Her skits, alone, prove it.
"You just woke up and the first thing you'll ask is where Hitomi is? No good morning greetings to us, your friends? Is this how you treat your friends, Nako?" Yuri fans her face dramatically. Minju laughs at Yuri. Yuri is starting her stupid skits again, Minju thought. Despite laughing at her friend, Minju is quite amazed at how quick Yuri is when she thinks about her next lines and the next scenario for her skits.
Yuri should really be an actress.
Nako rolled her eyes, "She's not in our room, did she go somewhere?" Nako sat beside Sakura, ignoring Yuri's childish antics. The youngest 2001 liner sulks in her seat, and Nako didn't go along with her skit. Only Hyewon goes along with her skits but the older girl is still sleeping, unfortunately.
The older girls can't help but smile at how Yuri had both of her hands crossed with a cute pout on her lips.
"How about Yujin?" Eunbi asks, "She's still asleep." Nako answered. "Hyewon? Wonyoung? Chaewon? Yena?" She asks again.
"Woah, did I hear my name?" Yena yells, coming out of her shared room with Chaeyeon Unnie only to be shushed by the girls.
"Yena's here." Chaeyeon drinks her coffee as she watches her roommate taking a sit at the table.
Chaos. Everything smells like chaos but the good time of chaos, Chaeyeon says to herself.
"Hyewon is still asleep," Sakura says, Eunbi nods agreeing with Sakura.
"Wonyoung, too." Yuri, Wonyoung's roommate, answers.
Everyone looked at Minju to confirm where Chaewon is. She stares back at the girls, "What?"
"Chaewon?" "Chaewon Unnie?" They all said in unison. "She's not in the room," Minju answered boringly. Trying not to sound concerned.
"Hitomi and Chaewon are nowhere to be found and the rest are still sleeping?" Eunbi Unnie asked again.
"They're probably just around the area, don't worry." Chaeyeon consoles Eunbi while she finishes her cup of coffee.
With Chaeyeon's consolation, Eunbi calms down. She always felt responsible for her friend. She's the oldest, she should take care of each and every one of them starting from Sakura to Wonyoung, the group's youngest.
Soon, the rest of the girls woke up. Wonyoung, then Hyewon, and Yujin woke up last.
The girls except Chaewon and Hitomi are all gathered around the leaving room. With Wonyoung and Yujin eating cereal, Hyewon eating bread with Nutella and the rest are on their phones.
"The two are still not back," Eunbi says, concern dripping from her voice. Minju stands up with a sigh, "I'll look for them." She says and proceeds to the door to look for Hitomi and Chaewon.
No one dared to speak, they just let Minju look for the girls. When Minju left the house, they decided to be productive and start planning their lunch while the rest played games in the living room.
Sakura, Eunbi, Nako, and Chaeyeon were the ones in charge of the food, while the rest stayed in the living room trying to entertain themselves.
Minju, the rich heir, knew exactly where she'd find Chaewon. For Hitomi, she didn't have any clue on where the Japanese were. Though it did cross her mind that maybe, those two are together.
But as she thinks of all the places Hitomi could possibly be, the girl she's been thinking about pops out of nowhere.
"Tomi?" Minju calls her friend. Weird, maybe those two weren't together, after all, Minju says to herself. "Where have you been?" Minju asks.
The younger smiles, "I just took a quick walk." Hitomi answers shortly, and with a nod, she walks past Minju making her way to the door but stops before she could twist the knob, "Minju." She calls the girl who just started walking away. Minju turns around, raising a brow at Hitomi, "She's by the beach, looks like she's waiting for someone." Hitomi says before completely leaving Minju outside.
Minju looks dazed. She was still looking at the door, Hitomi was already inside the house.
Confused, Minju made her way to the beach. She knew Chaewon would be here. It's Chaewon's favorite place. Whenever they'd go here, she'd always find Chaewon sitting by the seashore, looking at the sea as if she carries the whole world on her shoulders.
The exact same scene Minju is witnessing right now. Chaewon, looking at the sea. A familiar feeling of nostalgia hits Minju hard. She couldn't stop reminiscing the good old days.
She misses the older. She misses Chaewon, a whole lot.
