You're married?"
Patrick and Olive are free tonight so I grabbed the chance to reach out and tell them what happened.
I pressed my lips into a thin line to prevent myself from thanking him.
"Biro lang ba 'to, Clair?"
"No... do you want to see the marriage certificate?" I almost lost my voice when I said the last two words.
I secured it in a clear envelope and put it inside my safe drawer just in case someone will mess with my room... wala ibang makakaalam. I quickly exposed the certificate and brought it back inside the drawer.
Patrick was smiling while Olive could not even react properly. Her face sported a tepid reaction.
"What's your plan? That was not the closure or relationship that I want you to get in, Clair."
I licked my lips.
"Ramsis does not want a divorce. He wants us to try this marriage..."
"And you agreed?" kunot ang noo niya.
"Yes."
Patrick whistled. "There you go, Clair," tawa niya. "You finally admitted that you like him, too."
I cannot deny my feelings. I am slowly getting used to his presence. Little by little, my soul is craving for him.
Liking someone is fun until you find yourself purposely doing things beyond your comfort and principles. You'd suddenly think that it isn't adoring someone anymore... the feelings are way too deep to be sheltered into a shallow home.
It demands for a bigger one. It pleads for a better and deeper reciprocation.
Feelings are the enemies of our mind. It would grow and thrive more.
It's fucking midnight and my brain is not functioning well already. Ramsis called me earlier to inform me that he's on his way here to visit me.
I also didn't wear my eyeglasses anymore. It covered my slender thighs. I don't really mind. Wala namang tao at komportable ako sa suot ko.
The lady guard followed my movements when I opened the door.
"Oh, hija? Saan ang punta mo?"
"May hihintayin lang po."
"Ng ganitong oras, hija? Madaling araw na, ah..."
I nodded, slightly pissed. The cold wind is lullabying me while waiting for Ramsis.
