Chapter 11

"Have you finished all the books I gave to you?"

Lumipat kami sa living room at wala akong takas sa kanya. He's so energetic and it feels like he missed talking with me so much.

I bobbed my head. "Yes. Maganda lahat ng napili mong libro."

He shifted his weight. "Should I buy you more? I read some book reviews on the internet. May iba roong recommended ng maraming tao."

"You don't have to. I'll probably work somewhere to kill my time."

Saan?"

"Sa isang vet clinic dito. The guy that Dad is talking to is a vet doctor.

Ramsis fell silent, thinking deeply.

"Most probably... until 8 in the evening?" I said, unsure of the work time-out.

"I want to work, too."

I raised my brow. "Why? Aren't you a prince in your household? Baka manibago ka..." tuya ko. "Besides, you have curfew. Hindi ka rin papayagan ni Tito Samuel."

"'Pag gusto, may paraan," ngisi niya.

"I bet Tita Raquel won't let you.

He gave me a combination of sharp and insulted visage, lips were in grim line.

"Let's see, Emrie..."

I started working at the clinic from morning to night. My duty is not that hard. I am Doctor Villanueva's assistant. I haven't done any close contact with animals yet. I sometimes clean some of the cages, those are used to pen dogs or cats but usually dogs are the ones who are caged since the clinic has a built-in playhouse for cats.

My cartoon designed scrub suit is crumpled by the tight grip of the little boy that I am carrying. He got a few scratches on his nose from a cat's paw. The little boy is crying so hard.

I wiped his tears with my handkerchief. I was trying to comfort the little boy by giving him a toy.

"Opo," mabilis kong tugon.

"Look, baby... look what Ate Clair's holding."

I gasped softly when he tossed the toy and cried loudly. It pricked up my ears as he threw a majestic fit.
