Chapter 12I told Olive the truth behind the blue Azcona Clan shirt. Her surprised reaction turned into a playful one.
I couldn't stress my words enough earlier. I was frustrated because I was scared that she might interpret it the wrong way.
"Umupo ka na. I'll buy us water. Mukhang mainit-init ang magiging laban."
Tumayo muli ako. Ayokong maiwan rito sa unahan.
"Sasama na 'ko."
Olive hushed me. Maraming tao roon. Bumibili ng pagkain at madalas ay drinks.
"I don't like it here," I blurted out.
"Why?"
"Too many boys," I admitted.
Her eyes narrowed.
"Stop mentioning his name."
Ngumisi siya.
"So, you're agreeing with me? Your eyes are for Ramsis only? I bet that's your mantra since the first time he picked you up from your summer job."
To stop her from saying anything that would embarrass me with the strangers around us, I let her go to the food stall without me. I stayed on my seat.
Olive went back with two water bottles and a lot of chips in her hand.
"Buy your own chips, Clair."
I groaned, irritated. There was a coral pink towel on his shoulder. The game isn't starting yet but pigments of wine-like color are scattered on his cheeks. Maybe because the place is not well ventilated.
He bent a bit and supported himself by putting his hands on his knee. Ramsis' eyes were roving around the area. I shook my head when his eyes went to my spot but his poor gaze didn't reach me.
I proceeded to my real agenda and that was to buy food. I caught Olive and Ramsis talking. Olive laughed after shrugging her shoulders. I think he was still thinking that I ditched him.
His teammate patted his shoulder and told him something.
"What did you say to him?" That was the first question I asked Olive as soon as I got back to my seat.
She plastered a wicked smile. "Ramsis is getting paranoid, Clair. He thinks that you're tricking him. He didn't believe me that you were just buying food.
She raised her brows.
